  1. If you insure the item, you will pay tax relevant to the value you insured it for. Your risk as to the value you place on the item!
  2. As a disclaimer, I'm not sure if the comment on the TV in the first picture is relevant to the sale of the bass!
  3. Trust is important, but does leave you open to being screwed... I have many a time bought/sold/traded long distance. If the seller or tradee has no feedback I can refer to then I will refer them to my feedback both on Basschat and eBay and insist they either pay upfront, or send me their bass first. I know I'm not going to play silly buggers and if I can't verify how genuine someone is then they have to take the first step or the deal won't happen. If they have a fair chunk of reliable feedback, then I'm happy either way. Unfortunately though, with all the best will in the world and all due diligence taken, issue can and will arise! Previous posts from @NordicBard do appear to suggest they work in the Navy, could be a contributing factor to not responding? Hopefully they'll get in touch and it'll all be a misunderstanding, saves them ruining their reputation and no one ever dealing with them again!
  4. Like this: (This is the actual one Andy is selling, used to be mine.)
  5. Withdrawn - too good to sell.
  6. I love these basses... in fact I will go so far as to to say the V1 beats the V2 hands down in my humble opinion. One of the finest 6 string basses you can buy. I only let this go as it was part of a 3 way trade to get my Warwick SC6 Thumb back! I would never have let it go otherwise... if I had the cash, I'd have it back in a flash. Looks phenomenal too.
  7. Interested in the pedal bay and carry bag, would you sell separately? Unfortunately I have no use or interest in the pedals themselves!
  8. Sounds a bit naff as its through a phone, but the Mesa does sound lovely, the fan isn't too bad either. The gain is almost entirely down too as I dont want to deafen the neighbours! A little delay and reverb with my ACG through the Mesa... Mesa Tap..m4a
  9. 22kg or thereabouts. But given the PJB 12B weights a damn site more and I have to lug that in/out the boot, I'm sure I'll survive! Still miffed that Mesa don't give you the correct footswitch with their amps!
  10. Great cabs these! However it takes 1001 apologies for a mod to move your ad to the right section.
  11. Already seen and arranged a purchase! I saw that before posting my comment above.
  12. I've sent them a message, let's see what they say, although their website does say they are not taking on bespoke orders. A Boss FS-6 may possibly do the trick for the Solo and Mute functions...
  13. Quite possibly... The rear of the head has 4 separate inputs which would seem to suggest a generic footswitch would work for any one function. I'll probably invest in the correct Strategy footswitch though as it'll then do the lot.
  14. It'll be coming with me to band practice next week, I'll record a clip if I remember! Just had a little play and it is quite a monster, being able to run it low, half or full power is definitely needed! Shame the footswitch didn't come with it as the solo function would have been useful. All in, so far so good!
  15. The beast has arrived... It also doubles as a device to create earthquakes on the other side of the planet.
  16. So Mesa 4 ohm output to 12B input with a jack to speakon, then 12B 'link' to 6T input with speakon to speakon. That is exactly how I've been running the cabs into my previous head, and how I would have run them into the Mesa without seeking clarification, so I'm glad that does indeed appear to be right! Always good to seek a second opinion on these things, much appreciated!
  17. Amended to correct my series/parallel blunder... @HazBeen, given the outputs on the Mesa and the inputs on the cabs (pic below) what would you suggest is the best way to run both cabs into the head safely? Link one Mesa 4 ohm output to the input of the 6 ohm cab, and link the 6 ohm cab to the 12 ohm cab? 2/3 power going to the 6 ohm and 1/3 going to the 12 ohm sounds like that's be what I want as the 6 ohm cab is the 12B and the 12 ohm cab is the 6T.
  18. Right, This is a topic I know has gone round the houses, but I just want an absolute sanity check on my math to make sure I don't do anything stupid and kill a rather expensive amp straight out of the box! So, the head in question is a Mesa Boogie Strategy Eight:88. The cabs... PJB 12B and PJB 6T. The 12B is 6 ohm and the 6T is 12 ohm. I believe the equation for mismatching ohm cabs is as follows: (cab 1 x cab 2) / (cab 1 + cab 2) For these cabs this would be 6 x 12 = 72 divided by 6 + 12 = 18, which in my head gives a joint impedance of 4 ohms. So first sanity check is: Is my math right? Is a 6 ohm cab run in parallel (daisy chained) with a 12 ohm cab going to then run a joint impedance of 4 ohms? The second sanity check is with the amp... the picture below shows the speaker inputs on the Mesa, the duel 4 ohm inputs us what is throwing me slightly... can I just simply daisy chain the 2 cabs (if my 4 ohm math is correct) and run them into one of the 4 ohm outputs? Or should I run the 6 ohm cab separately into one 4 ohm output and the 12 ohm cab separately into the 8 ohm output? I'm thinking daisy chaining and running into one 4 ohm output is the right option. Can anyone give me some absolute clarification on this please! And sorry if this is old hat, but I want to really be 100% on this. Cheers! Russ.
  19. Had many MANY of the rectangular ones, they're perfectly reasonable cases at a perfectly reasonable price.
  20. Ha! I just bought it to carry various things in, for which it does the job very nicely! But actually filling it with a PJB Briefcase may happen at some point
  21. Tempted... I did just buy a PJB trolley case for this amp from guitarguitar in their sale, could do with buying the amp to fill it!!
  22. Well, @krispn... you've really gone and done it now... Just sold my Markbass head and officailly pulled the trigger on the Mesa Strategy Eight:88 head! It better be good or you'll find me standing outside your window shaking my fist in anger! And before you ask, yes, yes I will obviously run away if you open the door...
  23. You'll also get the same rate of tax applied to the postage costs as well! So say £1100 for a bass in the US, £100 for postage, you'll be looking at £250 on top for tax.
  24. I'm just in the process of pulling the trigger on the Strategy:88, however, even with its monster RRP of £3500 I've just learnt that it doesn't come with the footswitch as standard and that I'll have to fork out a further £150 for the privilege, somewhat off-putting to be honest. If a dirt cheap Behringer amp I had a while back can come with a 4 way footswitch as standard, a £3500 Mesa shouldn't even consider charging for one! Is it just me, or would this get your back up too?
