  1. I'm just in the process of pulling the trigger on the Strategy:88, however, even with its monster RRP of £3500 I've just learnt that it doesn't come with the footswitch as standard and that I'll have to fork out a further £150 for the privilege, somewhat off-putting to be honest. If a dirt cheap Behringer amp I had a while back can come with a 4 way footswitch as standard, a £3500 Mesa shouldn't even consider charging for one! Is it just me, or would this get your back up too?
  2. I am every member of Basschat apart from you... glad the cats out the bag, it's been hard work!
  3. Hi all, So Gas has attacked... badly... I therefore offer up for sale my much loved Markbass Multiamp Mono with the official Markbass case and the all important Markbass Midi Pedal Board. (PJB cab obviously not included!) The amp has always been housed in the case, as has the pedal board (I still have the original box for the pedal board) everything works fantastically. The pedal, the kettle lead and the midi cable all fit in the pocket on the case so everything is carried together! The amp has a HUGE amount of effects built in, all of the cabs and amps in the MB range as well as all the effects plus much more in the MB range. You can blend multiple effects together and the depth of ability to edit is astounding. The head retails at £1000, the bag at £70 and the pedal at £270, so it's a £1340 set up as it sits if you went to buy it today from new. I'm asking £600 for the lot (£20 extra for postage). I do love this amp... but I REALLY want the other thing I'm gassing for so this is on the chop. I'm in Basildon, Essex and collection is preferred though postage is doable too. Any questions, please ask! Better photos to be posted tomorrow! Russ.
  4. Don't tempt me to do the same! However having just taken delivery of my ACG, I think I'll quickly end up divorced if I bought this... almost makes it more tempting to buy! 🤣
  5. Hi guys, So, MAJOR GAS has hit... I don't want to sell this but I currently want my GAS item fractionally more. I'll do a 'Full Spec/Better Pictures' thing tomorrow, but for now here's a picture I took a month or two ago. It's an incredibly good bass, the action is very low, its sounds fabulous, quite WAL-ish. The Pre-amp is flexible and aggressive, it'll punch through the mix like Chuck Norris through sugar glass. The build quality is simply masterful, it is heavy, yet very well balanced so comfortable on a decent strap. This would be well over £3000 new, so £1250 seems more than fair and it is absolutely mint, I can't find a single scratch or zing anywhere, almost as if you'd just taken new delivery of it! I'm in Basildon, Essex and would rather it be collected or we meet somewhere around the M25, I can post if absolutely need be. Russ.
  6. Looking to potentially do a part-ex on the Strategy as we speak... still might be a trifle too much cash to outlay right now though!
  7. £729 on that M9 Rack is cheap... brand new items for 2nd hand prices.
  8. For me GAS has become a permanent health issue, there is no cure. There are always things out there I want/feel I NEED, the only preventative factor is money! If I ever won a horrendous amount of cash the collection would exponentially grow. I once saw a guy who bought and old church and it was literally full to the brim of outstanding gear, hundreds of incredible guitars, basses, amps etc. THAT is what I'd do, and even then I doubt that would cure the GAS. GAS is something that needs getting used to and managing correctly, there is no cure!
  9. Late to the party here but I own one and it's an extremely useful bit of kit... not only is the wireless aspect super handy for amplifying my digital piano (and bypasses the god awful built in speakers it has) without a cable trailing across the room, it's also a real gem for practice with friends, you can have two guitars, a bass and a backing track all running simultaneously through the one amp. The sound quality is perfectly reasonable, actually sounds damn fine with the digital piano going through it and the wood front really suits our decor so the wife allows it out on display! My only negative is those speaker absolutely need some protection from children that have the overwhelming urge to poke them, once push in it is an utter pain the @rse to 'unpoke' them. The brand new proce point of £600 is steep, but it does have a lot of useful functionality in a decent size box. @Muppet, if you still fancied one, PMT have one on clearance for £350.
  10. One the 12th day of Christman Santa brought to me, a brand new Mesa Boogie! But then I was so poor I had to set my wife and children freeeeee...
  11. Good. You dodged a bullit there in my opinion! €500 is enough to get a decent 6 string on the second hand market. Look at eBay, a few weeks ago I got a Yamaha TRB6P for £400, there are very good deals to be had if you are patient and keep your eyes open!
  12. That Strategy 88 is UNBELIEVABLY tempting... If I can find a way to finance it, I'm buying it tomorrow. @krispn, I hate you... I really do. Why would you do this?? WHY!!!!!! So... Much Gas... 😫
  13. I went from a 4 string Ibanez 1979 Roadster straight to 10 string custom Bee Bass (Binky). So don't worry about skipping the 5 string!
  14. The best combination of basses I've owned would absolutely be the current line up. 1: 10 String Bee Bass (Binky) 2: 6 String ACG Salace E Type 3: Warwick Single Cut Thumb 6 4: Warwick SS1 Streamer 6 5: De Gier Elevation 6 (1 of 2) 6: De Gier Elevation 6 (2 of 2) 7: Conklin USA 8 String 8: 9 String ACG Recurve 9: 1989 Yamaha TRB6P 10: 7 String Overwater Progress III 11: 7 String Overwater (1st 7 Chris made) 12: 5 String 'BayBee' Bee Bass 13: Aries 6 String 'Bajadera' 14: 1979 Ibanez Roadster 15: Tanglewood Baron 6 String (1 of 20 made) I don't take these basses for granted and feel very privileged to have these, they are all exceptional instruments built by some of the finest luithers out there.
  15. My new beast, arrived yesterday. Absolutely stunning.
  16. I can say that this is a fantastic bass. I owned this for a short while (before the full Warwick overhaul) and it was outstanding then, so after a the work from Warwick I can only imagine it's improved! Good luck with the sale sir!
  17. Just for fun... Binky and... err... Winky... 😁
  18. Well... that is indeed something to behold!
  19. Something has arrived! Just need to get home from work now!
  20. He paid, I sent, it arrived, all good! Excellent and trustworthy basschatter, happy to deal with again! 😁 Russ.
  21. I'll ask Alan which it is, though I assume the latter, certainly for the Camphor back! Delivery date is tomorrow!! I'll throw some pictures up once its arrived and I've been able to put it down long enough to take them!
  22. I'm very surprised you've not seen these before! I had you pegged as a Tracey expert. Even I've seen these about! You've shattered my universe... 😫
