  1. Great spec on this... slightly odd headstock shape but to be honest so quite like the overall balance of this. Any interest in trade sir?
  2. I bought a very similar 12 string version of this from this very forum a few months back, they are excellent guitars... a good price for a great sounding bit of kit.
  3. This used to be mine for a short time pre-transformation. Bet it sounds and play superbly now! Like a Sei should. Here's another picture of the front face, really highlights the beauty of the top.
  4. Clive had two spare strings from a set of Warwick acoustic bass strings, he very kindly sent them to me and didn't even want the postage cost! A good man to deal with, would happily buy from Clive next time he's selling something I fancy! Cheers good sir.
  5. Sold ANOTHER bass to Tony. Again no complaints as always! Payment was made very quickly, bass was shipped off and everyone is happy! 😁 Always happy to do business with this man!
  6. 4 string basses hold no interest to me... EXCEPT... this one. Absolutely outstanding. The condition for the near 60 years it been alive is stunning. The temptation to sell up half the collection and replace it with this is almost overwhelming...
  7. Afternoon all, I've recently taken delivery of a rather stunning De Gier Elevation 6 string! These things are really something special... The Hauessel BigMag pickups, the Hipshot tuners, the ETS bridge all make for a fantastic beast and Sander's craftsmanship is absolutely stunning. The new one is the deep honey/orange one with the ebony board. The other is my existing Elevation, both remarkable instruments! If you're considering a customer build, seriously consider De Gier, he is absolutely up there with the very best. Russ.
  8. Heard a lot of good things about Big Al's. Nor played one though. You have this listed as HH, as it's got just the one humbucker isn't this a H?
  9. De Gier are superb basses! I have two Elevation 6 strings and can't say enough good things about them. Build quality is superb on these.
  10. No bass, no bass without the B. Hiram knows the score, he's got 'brains'. 😁 I'm an expensive date. 💲💲💲💲
  11. You know how to treat a lady! 💃
  12. If you buy this you HAVE to let me see it in the flesh/maybe touch it a little... this was my original No. 1 dream bass years ago before I knew basses could have more strings!
  13. Top one looks like someone praying with a naked chick behind them... just me? Thought so!
  14. Just bought a lovely Sandberg Panther Special V from Andy. Very smooth transaction, great guy to deal with! No issues at all. Cheers Sir!
  15. I'm assuming everything in your house is absolutely massive and the precision bass and Hofner bass on the fireplace are normal size.
  16. Phil Jones gear is outstanding... Phil has spent more time on R&D than I think any cab/amp builder out there. I have a 8×5 cab and it can handle my 10 string bass with all it's highs and lows. Crisp, clean and beautiful sounding cabs. Think MarkBass but more refined, more compact and a little better looking! (And I'm a big advocate of MarkBass!). Been tempted by this rig myself... any queries you can ask Phil directly, he always responds promptly. At close to half price this is probably one of the better rigs out there for sale at the moment.
  17. To my eye your bass is the modified Shuker one... but as has been said the modifications won't impact the value, they will perhaps widen the target audience though! We've all bought things in the past that we didn't know had a 'history', you've just lucked out here as the history of this bass is a top notch mod by one of the better builders out there!
  18. Mother of god... I too own a De Gier Elevation 6. They are superb! Any trades sir? I'd love to own this one!
  19. I find this to be the case with acoustic guitars quote often... I recently bought a Vintage (brand) V300MH acoustic for £20 second hand and it genuinely sounds as good as a USA Martin I owned a year or so ago. A £20 acoustic vs a £1400 acoustic and being honest the £20 was at least as good! Solid mahogany with a fantasticly low action after a little fettling.
  20. Not much to say that hasn't been said! I bought a lovely 12 string Grestch from Tom, so new in fact that the battery in the battery compartment hadn't even yet been shed of its plastic wrap! Tom posted it via 24hr post and it arrived within 24hrs, perfect condition, perfect transaction. Cheers Sir! Russ.
  21. The tone is definitely effected by the height of the strings over the poles of the pickup more so than the action, though with a higher action you can be a bit more brutal with your playing which will again effect the tone, so it's totally about what's good for you! For me, I do a fair amount of tappy stuff so the lower the better.
