Reported it. The guy is a fraudster, always selling budget guitars and listing them as Fender or some such just because there is a sticker of some sort on it in a vein bid to claim he didn't know any better. Absolutle Ernie Bell end indeed.

A real friend would just say "what the hell is with that shirt, it's stupid and so are you... now buy me a beer before I burn that shirt while you're still wearing it.' -

You could say the same for certain players and their use of a 4 string bass! It is a bass, it operates on the same principles in every fashion, just with a few more strings. Same build techniques, scales, spacings, pre-amps, strings (with a few more either side), tunings etc. ERBs have far more in common with a standard bass than they do any other instrument as they are basses! It's like saying an 64 key keyboard isn't the same instrument as an 88 key keyboard... they are both keyboards, one just has more range. -

Damn straight sir! I very much agree with that... there is a line between jest/bants and truly hurtful words, I don't see any of the latter here and VERY rarely have even seen the latter anywhere on Basschat! We are all equally terrible people! -

Here's 4 of mine, and while beauty is of course subjective, I love the look of them, they are playable art to me, the woods used and sheer quality of work are simply stunning, they all play unbelievably well with low action and comfortable necks, and they are absolutely not for everyone, but most people who can't get their head round them, who have played them, understand instantly after 5 minutes of playing! For me, they're perfect, for you maybe not. For each their own lest us all be assigned a number and wear only beige! -
Seeing as we are both clearly unarmed it would be a fair bout! And yes, it was clearly an attack, I attacked you like the unstealthy ninja I clearly am.

Frank, agreed. Offered this and got politely declined. Offer is however standing. Glasses up sirs!

To add... This thread became the product of people's personal history and for that I'm sorry! But hey, when sh*t gets deep, put on the waders!

Yeah, join the club Karl. Some of us don't let it turn us into judgemental people though. (For greater clarity I messaged Karl privately to quash this 'debate' and was swiftly rejected). I learnt and grew from my issues and don't act vindictively against others because of it. Hence my adversity to being called a bully for things that are as light hearted as can be. Lets all just have that damn beer already!!!

@karlfer enough mate, pots been stirred, let's let it lie. Back to business as usual.

The comment about 'generation snowflake' is completely genuine, in my mind it is absolutely true. Unfortunately/fortunately for me my skin is fairly thick, most likely from various life experiences... Nothing that was said by me was intended as hurtful, spiteful or otherwise, however I do find it unnerving that such low key 'banter' can cause such a backlash of finger pointing and claims of bullying. I wonder how some would actually handled sustained and real bullying? And let me tell you unequivocally, this sir, is not that. I will bow out from further comment as I feel all that needs to be said is said. @Dov65 if I offended in anyway, then I apologise. But from where I stand nothing of the sort occurred. Good evening gents. Let's have a beer and shake hands!

Sanctimonious bullying? Little bit stern? Having re-read the entire thread I can't see anything that remotely could be classed as that. A small amount of banter maybe, an open and jestful discussion on the nature of text talk and someone's personal experiance reading/typing with dyslexia. If we all get so offended by the conversation had on this thread then what hope do we have of future generations having any ability to cope with a single misplaced word being said. Nothing that was written is remotely offensive to me (yes I known offense is subjective) and if it is offensive, it is offensive in the mildest manner (usually considered 'bants'), and if that is too much for some then I find it all a little disheartening! But if any of those remarks regarding 'bullying' were aimed at me, then I will curb my thoughts and word myself more carefully going forward. Sorry to rant, but I just find it all a little silly.

Guy seems pretty honest to me in his description... no hiding of issues or anything.

After a quick Google I found no such 90s Photoshop teacher called Shirely Nott. HOWEVER... this guy IS called Shirley Knott, I didn't take the time to find out who he is, but his hair must be stopped immediately.

This post should be renamed 'Free English lessons for all!'

BigRedX, I literally agree with every word you've written, and in my simple and somewhat less constructive way, you have said exactly what my original comment was trying to express! (in an albeit much more tongue-in-cheek manner!) To grammar and all its enemies!

I knew as soon as I wrote that message that someone would pipe up with a similar response! Proper generation snowflake!

Hi MTD KNOBS SOLD SEPARATELY SO NOW JUST THE PRE-AMP AND SPACERS ETC FOR £15 WITH POSTAGE!!! This pre-amp was made by Aries for the very rare Bajadera 6 string bass, I had it removed and replaced with a Noll 3 band active pre-amp when the bass simply stopped producing sound! While the bass was already undergoing restoration work with Mike Walsh (Zoot Basses) I decided just to replace it entirely and not have it fixed. So here it is, a unique active pre-amp made by Aries, it will need looking at but does come with all the right bits including the MTD Knobs, Jack input and various spacers. I'm asking £20 which will include free postage within the UK. For your interest below is a picture of the bass this pre-amp was originally made for. Cheers, Russ.
