Just reading the advert again. "blend pot is broken so it will need replaced. currently it only allows the usage of the bridge pickup but it is only a few quid to replace. I haven't done it yet as I use this bass so much I don't have the time to put it into a shop and not have it for a few days." How are they going to cope when they sell it then
Suicide with any luck! ...too harsh?

70s Fender P in Antigua - £400
binky_bass replied to Jono Bolton's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Definitely not illegal! It's simply called business. Everything you buy from everywhere you buy it is providing a profit to the seller so why take particular offense to someone who buys and sells? I have bought many a guitar from private sellers, spent a little time tidying them up and then re-sold for a small profit. I enjoy the chase and doing the work, it's a hobby that allows me to try out many guitars/basses and make a small amount of pocket money doing so, and if there are particularly nice ones, they might end up in my collection! If a seller on eBay doesn't put in the effort to take decent photos, create a decent description and doesn't even dust the guitar then they can't expect it to sell for a premium, if I buy it and take the time to clean, repair, dust it etc. then take the time to take good photos and create a good description then it will sell for a better price! I don't think it's the buyers responsibility to ensure the seller gets top price, otherwise we would never negotiate on car prices, house prices etc. Business is business. If it's a clear and obvious case that the seller REALLY doesn't know what they are selling then it's fair enough to inform them. -
Martin drive approximately 12 millions miles all the way from Manchester to Essex to collect my Markbass 106CL cab, a smooth transaction was had just like 10 years ago when he drove 12 millions miles to collect my other cab! No issues here, deal with confidence when dealing with Martin.

Hi, Up for sale is this Fender Mexican P-Bass pickup, this was taken out of a Mexican P-Bass by another Basschatter and subsequently sold to me! The bass this was destined to go in died so this is now surplus to requirements. £20 including postage for a great little P-Bass pickup that's barely been used with good wire length seems fair. Russ. Hi guys, I recently bought this unused little gem from this very site, unfortunately the bass this was destined for is dead... thus this bridge is now surplus to requirements! I believe this will fit any standard Fender body, the holes should line up perfectly. It's a good quality, high mass, solid bridge. Can't go wrong for £12 including postage. Russ. Did a trade with Simon earlier today... His Markbass Multiamp and MB footswitch for my Markbass SD1200 head and rack bits. Simon came over to mine for a quick chat and a trade, we did the deal and off he went! No problems at all, everything was super smooth! Top Basschatter! Russ.

So... This was all a bit of a saga, I arranged a trade with our very own Hellzero (top egg by the way!), the trade saw him sending me a very unique Aries Bajadera 6 string bass, so unique in fact there is no other like it! During its travels to me from Belgium it was unfortunately chucked about and subsequently two of the wood laminates had split, there were multiple chips and the pre-amp died. All this despite the heroic packaging of Hellzero... After many (many...) weeks of battling with the postal service, they eventually agreed to write the bass off and pay out in full, several weeks later the cheque arrived and we are all level, well slightly up actually! The bass though, poor thing was too good to be left dead so I contacted a Mr Mike Walsh of Zoot Basses, he's only 30 minutes down the road from me so it made sense to use him. For a very reasonable price Mike totally restored the Aries, he stripped back the original waxy top coat and hand applied no less that 7 coats of something I can't remember which gave the bass a fantastically smooth feel and a lovely level of sheen, he repaired all the cracks and chips, dressed the frets and put in a brand new Noll pre-amp, the result was fantastic. The bass is now one of the best basses I think I have ever played, and it looks absolutely stunning as I am sure you will agree! Mike's work really is something special and if you have any work that needs doing I couldn't recommend him enough! So from death to life this bass has risen gloriously from the ashes and now is even better than when it was first built. A truely remarkable bass built by Aries and completed by Zoot. I'll post some better pictures later today!

4th option all day long. Though I quite like having the up/down buttons edge mounted, makes for a cleaner look and is actually easier to use! I believe there is a 6 string Sandberg for sale with this mod! -
What if it doesn't like bananas?
And they are great at it, aren't they Russ ? ;-)
Yes they bloody well are! Royal Mail have a third sense about packages you're eagerly awaiting, they know just the ones to throw against a wall!

TRADED Mark Bass Mono Multiamp with MIDI Pedalboard and Bag

Hi guys, HEAD NOW SOLD!!! IT IS NOW ONLY THE CAB AND IT'S FLIGHT CASE THAT IS FOR SALE @ £425!!! I'm looking to downsize my rig to a smaller, lighter set up. As such I'm selling my Markbass SD1200 1200w head and my Markbass 106CL 900w cab. Both the head and the cab are fully flight cased, the cab flight case was near £200! The head is in a 4u flight case and will come with a Korg rack tuner and a rack mounted flexi-light. It also has a rear rack mounted 5 way plug extension so you can simply plug your effects into the back of the rack head. I'll throw in all cables needed to run the rig too. The head is near mint, the flight case has protected it very well! The cab again is near mint, I have never removed it from the flight case so it is almost untouched by human hands! For a rig this powerful it is surprisingly light weight, It's no feather that's for sure, but when stacked against comparable rigs it is probably 60% of the weight. The head was £1000 when new, the cab was £900, both cases were near £350 in total and the tuner, light, rack plug and cables etc came in at close to £200 so all in you've got £2250 of excellent condition gear here. I'm based in Essex and viewing/collection is absolutely fine. I'm in no rush to sell and I'm firm on the price as it is a steal at £1000 given the condition and the flight cases etc. I have my eye on a few things on here so I'm probably not up for trades, though you can make a trade offer if you want! Cheers! Russ.
