2. Yes, sorry, I was kind of replying to both of you at the same time! My bad...!
3. Charic, no the specs hadn't changed, Jon original quote was £400 upfront and £400 on completion, though to my detriment in this situation he did not provide me with an invoice for this, despite me asking several times in the beginnings of this order 2 years ago. Does anyone have any advice they could lend to resolving this? Would anyone act as a mediator to help my situation out, court is the last thing I want to do, but Jon simply will not stick to his word. I would be very grateful to anyone who would review my particular situation and offer honest, impartial advice. I am not after a slanging match with Jon, all I want is what is owed.
4. You say "credit where credit is due", to me I would not give any credit to this situation, the fact of the matter is 4 users of this site, myself and camdenrob included have had to resort to sending letters before action to Jon to get him to agree to a completion date, some of us have been waiting 2 years past the original completion date. For an owner of a business to have to have a threat of court action looming over him before he actually commits to a completion date astounds me. there is no credit here, there is only credit to the patients of those who have waited so long for these orders to materialise.
5. Well, I have been waiting for 2 years longer than my basses original completion date... Jon has been in contact with me via email, but most of these emails are very arguementative and volitile. He also built me a 7 string a while ago that had many issues and he stated he would build a replacement, this never happened and that too was 2 years ago. I had to show Jon messages he sent me to prove he stated he would build a replacement before he acknowledged it. The situation has deteriorated so much it looks like court action will be needed.
6.
No dealings myself, but you may want to have a gander at this thread: http://basschat.co.u...page__hl__letts - a fair few angry customers; unfortunately it sounds like the business has recently had a number of personal and financial problems which have set them back quite badly. I've no idea what the current situation is, but this may provide some insight. (Edit: link fixed)
I was made aware of some personal issues by Jon, which cause delays, I was fine with this, but so far the build is 2 years behind scheduel, the cost has risen and the general customer service I am receiving is far from acceptable.
7. Hi Guys, I'd like to ask anyone out there about their experiances with Jon of Letts Basses. Recently things have deteriorated between myself and Jon to the point I am forced to take court action against him to recover assest and money lost to him and his failure to complete a project within a reasonable time frame as well as a multitude of other issues. Can anyone who has had dealings with Jon post a reply or PM about their experiances with him? Be it good or bad, I'd like a bit of a cross reference to see if he has treated me particularly poorly, or if simialr things or other things have caused other customers to be disillusioned by Jon. I am aware that 4 other people have had to resort to sending Jon "Letters before Action", please let me know your thoughts, I think it is important to be impartial, but I am having a hard time doing so given the level of the service I have received. I also think it is important for anyone considering a build with him to know what a true representation of Jon and his company, be it positive or negative. I might be part of a minority, but I would like some infomation from other customers if possible. Thanks in advance. Russ.
8. I have the pleasure of owning the 1st one you did of these and its uber cool!! We have a 'hidden' track on the back end of our album called 'people of gotham' dedicated to my bass love it!
9. Excellent pedals... I use mine every day! Versatile and easy to use. Love it.
10. Dennis and I arranged a trade, his De Gier 6 string for my W&T 5 string, the only thing making the trade difficult was I'm in the UK and he's in Croatia! So I did the logical thing and flew over to Croatia for the weekend to do a bass trade. Dennis met us (me and my other half) at the airport and drove us to our hotel, we arranged to do the trade in the morning. Dennis then picked us up from the hotel and drove us to his house, we played bass, chatted, did the trade and everyone was happy! Dennis's hospitality didn't end at doing all the driving, he took us out in the Capital for a night of drinking and pretty much refused to let me pay for any drinks! 'I sold and Fbass today!!' He would say every time I tried getting my wallet out, (he sold an Fbass earlier that day). Overall an excellent trade was had by all, followed by a damn good weekend and it's always good to make a new friend along the way! If you're going to deal with Dennis, then you're going to have a smooth and easy transaction. Can't fault him at all.
11. This is just a big old bag of absolutely no! Though the soviet jeans case amd the soviet fake leather strap make it tempting!
12. Aaaaaannnnnddd Sold! In under 30 mins too! Can't say fairer than that!
13. PM'd with a slightly cheeky, but not unreasonable offer!
14. Just completed another few deals with Carlos, and again everything was spot on. Another happy return customer here!
15. The new wireless pedal board set up! The interface between the Bass and the Board is wireless up to 200 meters. Saves near death tripping experiances!
16. Wasn't this the ken smith thread?? I dont remember posting anything about a jazz... but I did post on your smith thread...
17. Looks like the serial number has been double stamped... was this how it left the factory?
18. £2600? Thats some price drop from £3750!
19. Hi Guys, I have one of these Warwick lite hard cases for sale, it's pretty much new and unused, it came with a bass I bought from here (a W&T Zoid) and is now surplus to requirements! http://www.gak.co.uk/en/warwick-rc-20905-b-premium-line-soft-light-bass-case/7368?gclid=CO3zqcyFn70CFZShtAodrWcAeg It's the one in the GAK link aboves, I reckon £50 including postage or £40 collected seems reasonable considering its pretty much unmarked and looks near new! So, anyone fancy this at less than half price? I'm in Basildon, in Essex and am on 07912222127. Let me know! Russ.
20. If only this where fretted and a 6 string....
