Hey guys, I've come to the unfortunate conclusion that this bass just isn't right for my style anymore.. I love this bass and have treated it like a baby since I've owned it. It comes with an original Spector fitted hardshell case which is in equally good condition. It's served b me very well over the last few years, but I need to get something that does my playing style justice. I do a lot of solo tapping with delay and reverb and this bass is not really suited to tapping. Its an amazing bass, and when I use it in the band, its cuts through the mix beautifully and has a range of tones from deep to hi-fi. I'm sure you all know how good these are... They retail at £2200 new, and this is in nothing short of brand new condition. I really would rather just do a straight trade for another 6 string bass, I'm not really sure what I'm after yet, but all I can say is I don't have any interest in Ibanez 6 strings, I don't like them! If you have any trade bait let me know! Failing that, I'd be reluctant to take anything less that £1000 for a straight sale. Check out the pics! (It wont let me upload more than one pic at the mo! Apparently I've gone over my global upload quota???) I can email or text pics if theres any interest, will try and get some up ASAP I'm in Wickford, Essex, if you want to test her out! Cheers, Russ.

Hey guys, I've been having a clear out and this is another little things I've found... its a very simple chrome 4 string bass bridge, looks pretty clean boarderline unused. Looks like it would suit a precision style bass, though I suspect its probably going to be quite a standard. £10 posted seems fair... Russ. Hey guys, I have one Orange ECC 12AX7 pre amp valve I found that I have no use for! Its boxed (the box is a little scuffed) and the valve is completely unused and very clean. They seems to be £20 new from various places on the net, so how about £10 and I'll pay postage? Russ. [attachment=115269:photo (28).JPG]

Hey guys, Heres a nice and quite pimp-ish acoustic hardcase from the late 1970's (I believe!) Its a wood construction, real quality case lined with a bright red and very plush fur to protect your guitar. Its got a Crocodile skin faux leather very convincing effect to the outside, to be honest, with it being from the 70's i guess it could actually be REAL croc skin... but I'd prefer to just list it as 'faux' as I don't know! It has the 2 original keys for the lock on the latch closest to the handle. All latches are fine and the handle is very solid! The price is £45 and I'll cover the £10 postage fee too, If you want to collect it from Wickford, Essex, then I'd probably let it go for a little under £40. Its in great condition for its age, and is better made than a lot of cases I've had in the past, so I think the price is very fair! Check out the pics. (the white effect on the red lining is just photo glare, the inside is 100% spot on and all BRIGHT RED!!) Russ. Pedal issues... REALLY appreciate some insight!!!
binky_bass replied to binky_bass's topic in Repairs and Technical
I think it is a tone pump jr, what significants is that? And the whole 'enough amps' thing seems like a valid arguement.., I shall look into that dude, thanks! Russ. -
Just to clarify... The above feedback is in relation to my ad for a 'non working' TE combo and I stated several times that I do not know what the issue is as it was returned to me unworking and I sold it as such! The price was £30. The buyer took it on in the knowledge of all of this. Ta, Russ.

Just to chime in... I play 9 & 10 string basses with a whole host of effects. I will literally challenge any guitarist out there to come up with bigger range of notes/tones or sounds that what my set up provides! I love messing around with sounds and effects with a range from low F# to a high C, it's very freeing. I play a lot of solo type stuff where reverb, delay, an EQ and a chorus make the sound scape awesome. If you say bass has less range than a guitar, or is less fulfilling as an instrument then please, come on over and sample a 6, 9 or 10 string bass, you'll find yourself corrected my good sirs! At the end of the day, tis each to their own, for simplicity and standard pop etc, a 4 string fender will do... For some who wants range, tone and the ability to sculpt their sound into anything, then I say effects can turn your bass into anything you want with the freedom to tap, pluck, slap, strum, pick, mute, walk, pop and harmonise your way past any guitarist! Ta, Russ.

Yeah mate, I've tried it on its own with different patch leads and a different power supply... still getting that farty kinda noise! Seems only to happen with my spector though? Pedal or bass issue I wonder? Though both 'appear' fine when not used together... -

Pedal issues... REALLY appreciate some insight!!!

Hey guys, I'd really like to get this sorted ASAP so any help would be great!!! I've got this Rocktron Cyborg Reverb Pedal that's caused me an issue a while back, it produced a high pitched hum when powered along side any other pedal... Since then I isolated it with a seperate power supply, and it's been fine. But after having sold a few pedals and re-arranged my board, I'm having issues with that pedal, but of a different nature. Now the bigger is making my active Spector Euro LX6 sound like its farting! Almost like I'm playing through a blown speaker... (I'm not!!!) I've re-jigged everything in a load of different orders but still the issue remains... It's not the patch leads, or the power supply or the amp. (well, so I think!) and it only happens with this pedal and only since I got rid of a few pedals... So, any ideas??? Thanks! Russ. -
