  1. If you do list it for sale here, you can always include within the advert your 'trade options', so best of both worlds! Hope you get want you want man! I miss by Bongo 6, was a great bass!
  2. @BassBeast - Finding someone out there with the exact bass you want, who wants the exact bass you have is - at best - slim odds! Why not sell the bass, or at least list it for sale (here is a good place to do so!) then with the cash you'll be in a FAR better position to negotiate the purchase of a pre-owned Stingray with anyone selling one. Just my two cents! (Great colour on your Bongo by the way!)
  3. Depending on your financial situation, it's the most cost effective way to introduce someone to an instrument. All the ancillary bits and pieces can be bought from the music shop (strings, straps, bags, plecs etc) and once the new starter has decided they do indeed want to pursue playing an instrument then they can go and buy a new bass that meets their needs and wants as and when they're ready to progress. Getting someone playing an instrument, by any means, is beneficial for music shops. Even if that first instrument isn't bought from them but uses their help and advice to make an informed decision within the second hand market. The new player is far more likely to return to a shop that helped them in the early stages of their playing - we do similar in the motor industry. Capture the customer for the long game. It absolutely works, and works very well. 👍
  4. Schecter make perfectly good basses - certainly nothing wrong with it for a first bass, but depending on you daughters age/size a 34" scale bass might be a stretch and end up putting her off. Best advice... take her to a decent guitar shop that has a selection of basses, try some out, find one she likes, then go buy it second hand. If she doesn't gel with it, you can always sell it and not loose a bunch of money.
  5. @ymdtzx - is this now a resolved issue? Did you get the bass back or your money back?
  6. Another reason to curse Břêxïť!!! A stunning bass sir!
  7. Wise maneuver sir. Treat yourself to something better and less marred by issues when you get your dosh back!
  8. That's been on eBay for years. If anyone pays even 25% of that, they've been robbed.
  9. Most sellers are open to negotiation. The ACG, STR and Brubaker would all be twice the asking price if bought new, if not more. There's a nice 5 string Overwater too which is probably £1500 at least less than the 'new' price. Gotsta buy what's right for you! For me, personally, a bit of negotiation with a keen seller often nets you a great deal!
  10. @ReeV0 - I'd really recommend buying second hand. You'll get either twice the bass for the same money, or the same bass for half the money. If you then decide you've made the wrong choice you can just sell the bass on, probably break even and buy something else! Ive been doing it for YEARS and still love playing a new bass which may or may not end up being kept! Loads of great second hand basses on here... Two good options mentioned above. Also worth looking at the Brubaker NBS1 5 string for sale (no affiliation to me).
  11. A free bump along with a picture of mine! Genuinely excellent basses...
  12. As we discussed, I was blown away with mine. I'd heard they were 'good', but it really did jump straight into the top 5 (maybe top 3!) List of basses I've owned, and you know the basses I've owned as you've owned most of them too!! 😂
  13. I have one of these in red and absolutely love it. They punch well above their weight, I genuinely prefer the tone of my TL6 over that of a Spector US NS6XL I had a while back. Excellent basses! Also, I suppose Tony is OK to deal with! 😉 (I've done maybe 15-20 deals with Tony in the pre-Brexit era, all super smooth and easy!)
  14. I'll admit I did need to have a quick think... 9 Bass Guitars 11 Acoustic Guitars 3 Electric Guitars 2 Ukuleles
  15. Hi all, Since loosing a bit of weight, I've got a plethora of jeans and trousers that no longer fit. All have been worn, some bought last summer, some a few years ago. All have good life left in them and all have been washed and are clean! These are free to whoever wants to collect them from Wickford, Essex. I MIGHT post for cost, but it's a heavy bundle so I imagine postage will be minimum £15. I will also have a good number of casual and slightly more formal shirts up for grabs, predominantly in size XXXL. Probably at least 15 or 20 of them! For these I'd like a little money as they're all decent shirts - £25 for the lot would be just fine! Cheers, Russ.
  16. You're very combative... unnecessarily so. I'm asking you a genuine question, you'd don't need to answer if you don't want to - the was no 'demand'. Adding hyperbole to your obfuscation is a bit childish however... Anyway, here's hoping you find the information you want, for whatever odd purpose you want it for.
  17. It's a genuine question. Any chance of a genuine answer?
  18. @nilorius - what's the purpose of all of your threads asking seemingly utterly pointless questions? Click bait? Trying to get points? I dont get it...
  19. If anyone is after a DV Multiamp Stereo and two DV Mark 4x12 cabs, then they all have a substantial discount over on the DV Mark Special Offers section... DV Mark Multiamp Red is €599 instead of €1500. The cabs are €249 instead of €1036. Pound sterling wise, that'd be an epic guitar rig for around £965 instead of around £3140 at the RRP. https://shop.dvmark.de/en/product-category/sonderposten/
  20. I have actually found that there is a higher chance of 'damage in transit' when the packaging is very cumbersome and heavy. When I sell an instrument with a hard case, I will pack out the inside of the case as best as possible to keep the instrument secure, but will only usually surround the case itself with black plastic and ALWAYS make sure the handle to the case is exposed, this means Mr/Mrs Courier can hold the case by the handle and gives them something to lash a bungee cord round in the van as well as keeping the package as light and slimmed down as possible. A seller on here (a very trusted seller who I've done business with MANY times!) once sent me a bass is the most bomb-proof packaging you could imagine, seriously over the top packing, 10 out of 10 for effort! Unfortunately still it was badly damaged on arrival, it looked like it had been dropped from a great height or violently thrown into the back of a van from 30ft away. Sometimes even the best of packaging won't withstand the best efforts to break its contents!
  21. Delivery drivers won't wait 10 minutes, not a chance in hell. I'd actually blame the way their company pays them as opposed to the drivers as often they get paid in relation to the amount of parcels they have 'attempted' to deliver, so asking them to wait 10 minutes is asking them to take a pay cut that day. Absolutely no excuses for those drivers that just drive up to a house to make their tracking SatNav show they were at the property, and then drive off again without actually leaving the van. I've had that twice with DHL. The pay structure of delivery companies has a lot to answer for.
  22. @dyerseve - The email address for the UK CEO of UPS is: [email protected] Send them an email, you'll end up with a response from the 'executive office' and not the actual CEO, but it'll hopefully get the matter escalated.
