**GONE** Pearl Export Single Kick Pedal.
binky_bass replied to binky_bass's topic in Completed Items
Yeah, gone a while back! I have a cheap double kick pedal (not free though!) if that's of any interest. -

I might stand a chance this year... Our first child is due in 3 weeks so I probably shouldn't be buying any more basses/amps anyway!

Got to love the hyperbole of this forum sometimes! I never said I was sure it was a Satellite, to quote myself directly, I said 'more likely'. Not sure how that constitutes as 'being sure' unless you are purposefully being obtuse? I don't frankly care what it is. It's not a Fender. If it's a Hondo, great, it's a Hondo. If it's something else, equally great and equally non-inpactual to me. I'm happy to draw a line firmly under this by unfollowing this thread.
-
I shall choose to look past your slightly passive aggressive 'tone'. This is the model I had: And this is THE actual bass I had:
-
The guy has changed the title to remove 'Fender' so fair play to him. Might actually be a genuine case of ignorance over malicious intent.
-
I had one that did have that exact bridge. A Google safety check also shows some with that bridge. In any event, we can agree that it definitely isn't a Fender!
-
More likely a Satellite bass. Hondo 830 basses have a different shape headstock. I had a Satellite a while ago, it was more or less identical except the crudely painted headstock. The bridge is a giveaway. I'm guessing the guy painted the headstock so he could sell it as a 'maybe Fender'. Definitely a con.

Which Luthiers Build Full Carbon Fiber Basses?
binky_bass replied to binky_bass's topic in Bass Guitars
I suppose the title of the thread is slightly misleading - really I'm not specific after a carbon fibre Bass, I'm looking for the lightest possible 6 string bass. Basslabs might be an option, but I'm not really a fan of their aesthetics. But they are open to a lot of customisation, so I may well get in contact! -
2022: basses bought minus basses sold equals.....

I thought I'd not really bought that much this year - after closer inspection, I was wrong... 😬 Including other musical instruments, I'm at +9. 😔 Below is what came in/out: Peavey TL6 Clarissa Roundback Acoustic Mapex Storm Drumkit Trickfish Bullhead 1K Technics Keyboard Squier Strat Yamaha BB425 - **GONE** Epiphone Dot 335 - **GONE** Thomann Digital Piano - **GONE** ACG Harlot 6 - **GONE** ACG Salace E-Type 6 GR Bass Dual 1400 - **GONE** Markbass Multiamp Mono - **GONE** Crafter 5 String Acoustic Bass- **GONE** Crafter Nylon Classical - **GONE** Crafter Fretless Acoustic Bass - **GONE** Tanglewood Acoustic - **GONE** Peavey Valveking Halfstack - **GONE** Fender Sonaran Mini (not pictured) Washburn Classical Acoustic (not pictured) -
12.5lbs... Wow, that is a chunk! Spacing looks roughly 16.5mm, maybe 17mm if measured directly at the saddles. I am a little tempted... if I did buy it, I'd very likely get rid of that extra bit of neck, the odd thumb rest and reshape the upper horn as it looks a bit cumbersome and definitely adds a lot of weight! Would you post?

Which Luthiers Build Full Carbon Fiber Basses?

Agreed. It actually makes the body and neck feel off-angle of each other. The upper bout is too weak and where your forearm would rest seems too shallow a curve. -

Which Luthiers Build Full Carbon Fiber Basses?
binky_bass replied to binky_bass's topic in Bass Guitars
Not my cup of tea, they're bitsa basses 'assembled' in the USA. They look like a weak version of an old skool MM Stingray and they don't do 6 string basses, so no dice on Klös I'm afraid! -

Gus also have a website that is entirely impossible to navigate on a mobile phone, so any potential customers can't even have a browse of the website. -

I can't get passed the look of Gus basses... they look like they've been made with modelling balloons. I'm sure they're amazing instruments, but aesthetically not for me! -
Which Luthiers Build Full Carbon Fiber Basses?
binky_bass replied to binky_bass's topic in Bass Guitars
I had a Rainsong Jumbo acoustic a while back and that weighed in at 1.7kg, was hoping a bass of similar material would be lighter by a decent margin to that of a traditional wood bass. -
Evening all! I'm debating looking into having a full carbon fiber bass made, neck and body - set neck or some kind of through neck. It'd be a 6 string bass, ideally headless. Essentially I'm wanting something as absolutely light as possible. Anyone know any builder that do full carbon? Status do/did but they're books are full I believe. Cheers, Russ.
