  1. My old bass (and my old pictures!) This is a truly fantastic bass... the build is excellent and the tone is superbly versatile. Whoever ends up with this will have a very special bass. Also, Hugues is a great seller and a trustworthy guy!
  2. It's been a while since this old girl surfaced! A wonderful bass indeed. I think @nobodysprefect used to own this way back in the day, I remember him speaking very highly of it!
  3. Nope! 😄 For the record, I'm a lefty too! I just decided to start playing righty all dem years ago as my past self saw sense in going righty!
  4. I have absolutely no possible need for this, but it does look super cool! Looks like it'd be at home in some kind of Soviet era nuclear power station!
  5. It's clearly a pìss take... the words in that picture above look very much like someone has crudely added them to the picture to make a sarcastic point.
  6. If @Hellzero sees this he's going to go on a rampage and kill all humans...
  7. Hi all, I'm selling this Samson CR4 Concert IV wireless system. I haven't used it in some time as I have a Line 6 G75. These where pretty expensive in their day, only asking £35 posted within the UK. (Excuse the language on my guitarist 'special box'!)
  8. Hi all, Selling my Boss RC-3 Looping Pedal with instructions but no box. These are circa £120 new, I'm asking £75 including UK postage.
  9. Hi all, Selling a Boss FS5U unlatching footswitch pedal. These are £35 new. I'm asking £20 including UK postage.
  10. There's lots of threads for basses, amps, effects etc. but unless I'm mistaken (and I probably am!) there's not one for full band gear pics/set ups. So.... show us your backing! This is ours (Art Of Rebellion). A few ACGs, some GR gear, a pair of Helix, lots of EBMM JP guitars plus a Reiver, Friedman and Blackstar heads, custom NH 2x12 cabs, Shure SM58s and some Mapex/Sabian drums.
  11. Absolutely. I firmly maintain that Alan's work is right at the very top of the custom bass world.
  12. The Eagle has landed... We moved our weekly band practice to tonight (unrelated!) so will be able to give this a full blast tonight.
  13. Yes, that's the bass I mean! I thought it was Hipshot but you are right, it is ETS.
  14. A 6 string triple octave would have a substantially narrower neck that Binky (below). Would definitely be interesting to see how a 6 string triple would look. Hipshot have made hardware for an 8 string triple (24 string) in the past, so I'd assume they could rustle up something for a 6er triple!
  15. Honestly, I prefer the look of the TB12 over the Ament's bass (just my opinion of course!) @Basvarken - out of interest, could you build a 6 string triple octave bass (18 string)?
  16. Looks awesome, wouldn't say no to owning that!
  17. Tell the shop, maybe they'll send you a free set of strings or something for your inconvenience of fixing it. Saves them having to pay to courier it back and to send out a new one. But ultimately, if its a dead simple, noninvasive fix, then doing it yourself saves everyone hassle.
  18. I think you're right, I've googled them from time to time but found very little other than my own posts about them and another post on TalkBass I think about a red one. If you can find one, snap it up! I've had mine in constant use for well over a decade (maybe closer to 13/14 years) and it hasn't even broke a sweat. No fraying, no loose stitching, absolutely nothing! Quite remarkable really...
  19. Then sir, definitely get a 6! The high C on a 6 string bass really opens up what you can do, especially for chord shapes and adding great melody. These days when I pick up the one 4 string I have left I am almost totally lost as almost everything I play uses both the C and B of a 6er. If you can learn 5, you can learn 6! 😁
  20. Don't you mean 'wal' made...* OK, OK... I'm leaving. *it looks slightly like a Wal.
  21. A Cort Artisan A5 is in budget, and they're excellent basses. But as many have echoed - there's a good few excellent 5ers at great prices in the for sale section. Why not buy one of those that takes your fancy, play it for 6 months and either sell it if you don't get on with it and go back to 4, or keep it... or sell it and buy another 5. Either way you won't loose money.
