  1. Lynx get another vote from me. They made me a very specific split cable a while back which didn't cost the earth, arrived quickly and worked absolutely perfectly. Good communication too. 👍
  2. Impossible to unsee.
  3. I've had 3 of these over the years, absolutely excellent basses! Probably (and definitely in my opinion) the best 'stock' 6 string bass out there.
  4. The service they offer can lead to mental health issues too. So far I'm at 69 emails and 10 months of grief. I have zero sympathy for his mental health issues based on comments that are as a result of his business's lack of fair service. Forgetting my personal experiences, there are far too many saying similar things for this to be over sensitive customers. If he doesn't want bad words said about his business, he has the ability to adjust what causes the negativity. If only positive feedback can be aired for fear of mental health issues then we are effectively living in censorship.
  5. Bass Direct are fine if there are no issues with the transaction as you don't need to interact with them. On multiple occasions I've experienced awful customer service from them and am currently in the process of yet another issue with them that has been going on for close to a year, it was only under the threat of legal action AND contacting the manufacturer of this particular item directly that they have agreed a replacement, which I still haven't got. I know there's not much in the way of bass specific alternatives out there, and this is my personal opinion (others may vary) but I'd personally avoid dealing with Bass Direct. When things go wrong (and they often do because the stock availability on their website is almost permanently incorrect) they are a nightmare to deal with and extremely rude and arrogant.
  6. This surely would be better placed in the 'Basses for sale' section as opposed to the 'sell anything' section.
  7. I'm 35, so not the youngest or the oldest by any stretch, and have one established band and am just in the process of setting up a second band - both originals music. Have a look at www.joinmyband.co.uk there's a good few people out there looking for other musicians to make music with. It sounds like you might have had a few consecutive bad experiences, to me that just means you're overdue a good one! I say give it one last go, find some musicians local to you and try one last time to get something going - if that fails, then I'll buy your gear! 😂
  8. Dang. I had one of these a while ago... it's one of the VERY few basses I regret letting go. Astonishingly good instruments.
  9. The name I really liked (which is an episode title from Star Trek Voyager) is 'Course: Oblivion'. Reckon that'd make a good band name!
  10. @mar_to_the_t - where do you live? I'd like to come and steal everything you own please!
  11. Ha, my last name is Newton - but I'm not dead... yet...
  12. Yeah, I do get that and it is a consideration for sure. It's a balance between what's used and what isn't and what adds to the vibe of the band. We might not settle of TerrorPyn but I like it as a temporary name at the least!
  13. Like a strike of lightning, it has come to me! Along with a quickly smashed together first album cover! 😂
  14. Any band where its 'someone's' band isn't a band for me! My main project (Art Of Rebellion) is a totally collaborative effort, as is this new project. Making unilateral decisions in a band (to me) is a recipe for disfunction.
  15. Hi all, I've started a new project and we've been racking our brains for the last week or so as to a decent band name. Soooooooo many of the names we've thought of (some pretty obscure!) seem to all have been taken. How did you pick your band name? Did it just 'come' to you or did you have to properly think about it? Any suggestions are also welcome! We're going for an 80s - 90s old skool metal vibe (not covers). Ta!
  16. You could probably talk to Alan at ACG and have something custom made for not too much more than your budget. They are about the best, most versatile basses money can buy.
  17. Sold a Fusion gig again to Three, super easy transaction, paid promptly, no problems at all! Another credit to our fine BC community!
  18. I had always thought that... The 'rules' for this section do clearly say that Basschat has no affiliation to eBay, so why isn't Gumtree/Reverb etc OK?
  19. Hi all, So I just bought these from @johnbiffa last week for the very fair sum of £30 (postage kindly included). THEN... immediately after having purchased, my guitarist gave me 3 of his that he hasn't used in years, so now I have 3 more than I need! So, I'm turning these loose again to anyone that wants them. £30 posted. Cheers, Russ.
  20. Genuinely agree... while I'm sure it's technically tricky to play, there no real melody or hook or anything actually interesting to listen to. Jaco has always been a bit overrated in my eyes.
  21. This, without a doubt! Flea isn't a terrible bassist, but his version of the 'national anthem' is a disgrace!
  22. John kindly responded to my wanted add for some Hercules wall hangers - they were sent out promptly and arrived in great condition. Another credit to basschat! Would definitely deal with again.
  23. Certainly nothing wrong with casing the beasts up. While I definitely don't play all of mine daily or even weekly, I do enjoy the aesthetics of having them neatly presented on the wall - almost like an art installation. I get the most enjoyment from playing them of course, but I do definitely also enjoy being able to see them every day even if I don't play them!
  24. I would do that but I don't have 21 corners in my room!
