  1. 24" scale and 19cm spacing over 4 strings (22.5" total) spacing would mean the fretboard is almost a perfect square! For £6900 might be worth correcting such huge errors!!! 😝
  2. This will be a 94 model, the 89 has a single truss. Lovely bass, possibly refinished? If it has been, it's been done very tastefully and if anything would probably add rather than take away from any value! Superb instruments these... For what it's worth, I think you'll regret selling this.
  3. Just in case you aren't joking, it hasn't been shaped yet! 😉
  4. I'm not sure if what we play classes as metal, but there are certainly some 'heavy as metal' parts to a good number of our songs, so on that basis I shall post within this thread! My main bass at the moment is an ACG 6 string 33" scale bass, we tuned half a step down for our songs and this bass is perfectly suited to that. Excellent array on tones to allow the bass to thunder along or shine at the top of the mix. Amp wise, it's a Mesa Boogie Strategy Eight:88 head with two Mesa Vintage Powerhouse cabs throwing out circa 450w of obscene valve power. Effects wise, I went from a massive board to a Line 6 Helix and haven't looked back. Does everything you need it to do and a fair bit more. All in, that set up is about as good as I have ever played and works brilliantly with our music, for the metally parts and the slightly lighter parts!
  5. Just realised the bass one has a rip in the bottom, so call it £15 collected or £20 posted for the lot.
  6. Hi, (Bass one has a rip, so call it £20 posted or £15 collected for all 3) I've got these three surplus to requirement gig bags, one is a padded bass bag, one is a non-padded bass bag and the last is a padded guitar bag. Looking for £30 for all three posted to you or £25 collected from Basildon, Essex. Ideally need them gone ASAP as we're moving house shortly. Russ.
  7. Maybe they are talking about themselves? I am collectable - as in I am able to collect things. Also, going down this road, anyone who says 'Pacific' instead of 'Specific' should be shot immediately and ground into a fine paste.
  8. Agreed, trying to get a courier to pay is a nightmare, they ask for unreasonable information and evidence that you'd have needed to obtain before sending the item such as photos of the packing process, what tape you used, etc. all in an attempt to weasel out of paying. It's my experience that the first answer they give is always "No, sorry this isn't eligible to pay out" in the hope you won't argue it, if you do argue it and if they think they have no choice but to pay, they attempt to low ball you, only if you reject the low ball, and keep pushing will you maybe get something close to the right value of compensation, to be raised via a cheque that takes 6-8 weeks to arrive... They have this process in place because out of 100 claims, 10 to 15 people will give up during the process and they've saved themselves the money of having to pay out these claims.
  9. I don't mean the bass, I mean the picture on the wall behind the bass! 😊
  10. Nice painting! Bernard De Bages? Reminds me of Joan Miro.
  11. People selling basses that clearly know what they are selling but act ignorant in the hopes someone will think its a 'real' Fender or something. "Could be a real 1969 Fender worth £5k but I know nothing about basses so I'm only asking XXX" And cropping the headstock out of photos then just listing it as a 'Bass', clearly in the vein hope someone will think its some magical brand worth far more than the seller is asking.
  12. Agree with this. And anyone that says 'L@@k!!!' or 'Never Gigged'. I could gig a bass every day for 10 years and not knock it once, or I could leave a bass against a hot radiator at home for a week a utterly ruin the neck. Also, people that put emojis in the title... And while we're talking about banning things, cars with eyelashes, if you own one you deserve 12 months in the hole.
  13. In the illustrious words of Britney Jean Spears: Oops I did it again... Alan had an ACG 6/33 part way through build on the his website, I saw it, I wanted it, I sold my De Gier and I bought it (well, placed a deposit on it). It'll be a 6 string, 33" scale Salace E Type with an AI Holly fretboard, Ash body, ART maple burl top wood, 5K DFM pre-amp with an ACG RFB pickup in the bridge and an ACG PB in the neck. It'll have top wood dots down the neck with a triple dot at the 12th and 24th fret (if Alan can squeeze enough dots out of the remaining top wood). It'll be a set neck with Dunlop recessed strap locks, Hipshot Bridge and Gotoh resolite tuners with a matching headstock cap. Shaping up to be a right stunner! (As if Alan could even build anything that isn't stunning!) This will be the 3rd ACG 6 Alan would have built me within 2 years... Unfortunately I suspect it will be the last for a good few years, looking forward to taking delivery!
  14. Take a look at your photos on the mobile phone version of basschat, they are not the right size, some show the bass as squashed, some show it stretched and the final photo makes it look like there is a big dip in the fretboard at the 11th fret. Sometimes when you load photos they appear as skewed and squashed on the mobile phone version of the website. It's a beautiful bass and people should see it correctly.
  15. Beautiful bass! Love the red accents on the tuners. Though your pictures appear to be a bit skewed?
  16. Hi all, Better photos added! Happy to talk about a 4 month payment plan if that helps anyone. I'm looking to potentially part with this astronomically good De Gier Elevation 6 bass for one reason only - to acquire a VERY specific bass that I very much want! Should this specific bass sell, then this will be withdrawn. Just to clarify (even though I thought it was pretty obvious!) I'm not interested in any trades of any kind at all, this is strictly sale only! This is an absolutely mint De Gier Elevation 6, it is a remarkably good bass, lightweight, excellent tonal pallette, beautifully constructed, about as much as anyone could want from a bass! Last time I spoke to Sander he said it would be €4000+ for one of these in this spec, and that was a few years ago, so factor in shipping and taxes and you'll be nearing €5000 (£4300ish) for one of these now. The bass is in truly excellent condition, the Häussel Big Mag pickups provide a huge sound alongside the Aguilar OBP-3 pre-amp. It sports Hipshot Ultralite tuners and a custom ETS bridge, it has a stunning Maple burl front and back with matching front and rear headstock caps too, a beautiful Pau Ferro fretboard with binding and a zero fret just infront of the nut. Weight is near as dammit 4kg with a 34" scale. I'm looking for £1900 for this beast, with that I can include a brand new Hiscox hard case. I can ship it but this must be understood to be at your risk a your expense. You're very welcome to collect, or we can discuss a fair meeting point. Any questions, please ask!
  17. I absolutely second this! I have 4 of Alan's creations and they are absolute GAS killers. These days it is a very rare day I get GAS because my ACGs continue to provide anything and everything I could ever want or need in a bass. Shameless ACG picture below!
