  1. I don't know what planet you're on @acidbass or if you're mistaking ACG for another builder, but I can without hesitation say that your above comment is factually incorrect. I have owned, and still own, basses made by some of the most revered luthiers on the planet and ACG are right at the VERY top. So much so that I have 3 ACG basses, 1 ACG guitar and another ACG bass currently being built. Alan's work is absolutely exceptional with flawless wood working skills. Shuker made excellent instruments too, I've owned 2 Shukers, but I did end up selling them as for me ACG are a better fit. @bassmansam, it's really a personal choice, I can say ACGs are most definitely not 'amateur made' instruments, they are outstanding basses and exceptional pieces of skilled woodwork. See the below picture for evidence of this.
  2. I've sold hundred of guitars and basses on eBay and at least 95% of the time the majority of the bids come in during the last 5 minutes. Of course this leaves the 5% of bidders like @TheGreek, but the absolute majority of bids come in during the last few minutes. To add a caveat, all my auctions start at £1 with no reserve, so these are the kind of auctions where the action happens in the dying moments!
  3. Indeed, but then that defeats the object of a super light cab! The cabs need a flat, fatter foot with a convex footprint, that would minimise contact with the ground whilst maintaining stability. The rig is good! My spine is very happy about only having a 24kg rig as opposed to the 120kg of the Mesa!
  4. Looks like a cross between a Shuker Long Horn and a Ritter Jupiter
  5. Surprisingly I'd hope for Fender to make that call - their custom shop Tye Zamora through neck 6 string bass was pretty cool. Throw some buckeye on that, maybe a cheeky inlay and side LEDs and I'd be happy! Other than that I'm fortunate enough to already own my dream basses. 😁
  6. Sold some stands to Lee, quick payment and good communication, would be happy to deal with again!
  7. @la bam, realistically is there a way to work something out distance wise if i threw my hat in the ring?
  8. Sadly, I think you're a bit too far away from me down in Essex!
  9. I'd be quite tempted to try this rig out but you're a bit far away! As I understand this runs 8 KT88 valves (correct me if I'm wrong!) and is comparable to the Mesa Strategy head. Do you know the weight of the head and each cab?
  10. I've redacted a few words to reveal your true statement...
  11. To second that, surely literally all of the aspects of this dream bass would only be valid if it was the right orientation for you? The ergonomics, the visual look etc. All of that would be moot if it played into why this is your dream bass as when you play it both the ergonomics and the visual style of the bass will be exactly the opposite of intended. If it is your dream bass purely by way of sound only, then maybe it's worthwhile, though I suspect that stringing a righty as a lefty will make the bass sound slightly different than intended too depending on how the pickups are wound and placed. All in, your only option is a DeLorean.
  12. I'm left handed for everything in life EXCEPT playing bass and guitar. I don't know why, but some kind of hyper-logic activated in my brain when I first started playing bass 20 years ago, I was 2 months into playing as a lefty then made the decision to change to righty as 95% of basses are righty. VERY glad the younger me had some kind of sense (a rare thing when I was a teenager!) So, find a DeLorean, go back in time and switch to righty, your future self will thank you! 😁
  13. Does it come with the matching dog bowl?
  14. Yeah, I gathered that thanks! But as mentioned a while back that was a photo of the build process with a wholly unshaped headstock, so I'm not sure what your 'not sure' comment means! Anyway, moving on...
  15. I suspect most of it will be under the bridge, I don't mind that though as there'll be a decent amount of the gold resin visible elsewhere, and yes, once the final finish is applied it will really be a visual beast!
  16. Nice! Great body colour and neck combo. I had a USA Sterling of the same/similar colour years back. You're in my neck of the woods too! Sadly, no funds for this very fairly priced gem.
  17. Tony knows I refuse to stay in a room that doesn't have manacles!
  18. Back when it was just you and a handful of dinosaurs that resided in Belgium...
  19. The basses can stay forever, but that will mean we have to stay forever. Have the spare room made up, we're on our way!
  20. @Hellzero - Really you should be thanking David Cameron, he will be forever know as the person that orchestrated the demise of Britain! Is there any room in Belgium for me, my wife and my basses? 😁
  21. A quick update... The bass is now really coming along! To my eye the triple dots look great on a wider fretboard!
  22. If I didn't have an ACG a month away from completion I'd be tempted by these. I have a 30.5" ACG that Alan made for me about 2 years ago and it really does prove that short scale and micro scale basses are now truly as good/better than the usual 34" basses.
  23. If you have a ruler or tape measure you could easily tell us exactly. For a high price bass it is useful to provide good details especially when requested by a potential buyer!
  24. Get a Kemper and have it all.
