Hi all, I'm selling this rather lovely Cort NDX20 Electro-Acoustic. It is in immaculate condition and has just been re-strung with a set of Martin Lights. The stock black plastic tuning pegs have been replaced with a set of very nice Ebony tuners, the plastic stock bridge pins have been replaced with Ebony pins with Abalone dot inlays and the stock plastic nut and saddle have been replaced with bone. The action is really nice and low (I'm a real stickler for a low action!) and the guitar plays superbly. It has a solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides with a Rosewood and Abalone rosette. The original hang tags are still on the guitar and I really can't see any wear anywhere! The spruce top has some very nice light figuring and the mahogany on the rear and sides looks great. The guitar will come with a Takemine faux-leather hard case, it's a really nice case! A good £130 new. The guitar still retails for £380, with about £50 or so of upgrades, so I think £280 for an immaculate upgraded guitar with an expensive case is very fair. I can post via 48hr post for an extra £15 (uninsured and at your risk, or happy to post via any method you want for extra cost). You're also welcome to collect from Basildon, Essex, though I will insist on strict social distancing, so apologies that you won't be able to come inside, but you can give it a strum on the doorstep! Any questions, please ask!

Sold a bass to Brian, very prompt payment, good communication, can't fault the transaction at all! Another credit to the BC community! Would be very happy to deal with Brian again.

Best place to trade/sell/commission sell/part exchange basses?
binky_bass replied to BadHands's topic in General Discussion
It also depends how long you're prepared to wait for the sale... eBay generally sets a reasonable tone for market value as many people will see it and if you list it with no reserve and a £1 starting bid it will sell for what the market dictates is the price. With 12 good photos and a solid description you will get a fair return, especially if you wait until you get a £1 selling fee offer. I just sold an Ibanez ANB306 on eBay for £1266 under the above set of guidelines. Basschat is a worthwhile place to list your bass, £7 for one item for as long as it takes to sell. Again, photos and description are key, as is a reasonable price. Obviously the better the price the quicker the sale. I don't really rate Gumtree, I've advertised a lot on there and rarely ever made a sale, however without fail I always get at least 3 messages from obvious scammers. On commission at The Bass Gallery or Bass Direct is an option, their commission is between 15% and 20%, you will need to physically hand over your bass though, and there is no guarantee it'll sell quickly so you may be without your bass for a while. Selling it to a store, be it GuitarGuitar or Cash Converters, will get you a quick sale but it'll be a low ball price - depends what you want to get. Reverb is good, I've recently sold two USA PRS and a few pedals via Reverb, there is a selling fee (6% or 7% I think), cheaper than eBay and quite secure. It's free to advertise and you only pay the fee once you've sold. This might be a good option. That's my two cents! My advice, advertise on Basschat, Reverb and Gumtree at the same time, if you get no bites maybe talk to the guys at The Bass Gallery or Bass Direct. Or if you're happy to roll the dice and let the market decide the value, stick it on eBay with 12 good photos, a lengthy description AND OFFER POSTAGE!!! Without postage on any platform, you are EXTREMELY limited to who can buy your bass. Good luck! -
An Epiphone thunderbird would be a fine choice as a first bass. Especially at a decent second hand price like this, as you can always move it on and not loose money if you don't end up sticking with it. If you plan to play seated, a more standard shape might be beneficial, but the thunderbird has a great tone and with a decent strap seated playing wouldn't be an issue.

20% I believe

Not quite at that price. They did have a Carbine M6 head for £599 I think... I did partake in their Mesa blowout, I got a Strategy Eight:88 head and two Powerhouse Vintage 600w cabs for about 40% of retail.

It has indeed, £500 is (in my humble opinion) a very fair price!

Temped by this! Looks pretty decent for £500. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mesa-Boogie-Bass-Combo-M6-Carbine-/265025779008?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292

Anecdotally - I once bought a white Squier Strat for £60 from cash converters to use as a prop for a Wayne's World fancy dress set up I was going for. 2 weeks later I sold that same strat back to the same cash converters, to the same person who sold it to me, for £70. I didn't even need to try and negotiate up!

With the plate. It looks fantastic without it, but with it, it really makes the bass feel complete. To me, basses with the steel control cavity cover but no plate just look odd! I like the tort, but a black one would suit the black blocks well. Why not get a black and a tort one? You can then change it's style for pennies! My vote: with a plate for sure!

Yeah, I second (or third? Forth??) the praise for GG. I sold them an Overwater 7 and they gave me a very fair price, I also bought a Mesa Boogie Strategy Eight:88 and two Mesa Powerhouse cabs from them, one had damage, there was a bit of faffery, but they came through in the end. Also bought a load of other bits and pieces from them, always very prompt delivery and their customer service is pretty spot on too. Can't really complain to be honest!

I don't get half the things you post! What has this got to do with anything?? Lol. It's just looks like a random eBay auction.

@DaytonaRik - Nice! That's now almost the exact same set up as my kit, I added a double kick which is great fun to play with. So long as your having fun thats all that matters! I've played my kit for about 30 minutes everyday since buying it and I have noticed a marked improvement, I'm able to keep up with most tracks from 'Keep The Faith' by Bon Jovi, with the exception of a few of Tico's fills and hi-hat moves. When I started I was just about able to muddle through a few Weezer tracks. Keep on smashing dem (fake) skins!

@Anthony Kraft - I think you've totally misunderstood my previous post! The guitar is owned by @therealting, not me. I never said or alluded to it being mine so not sure how you came to that conclusion! All i was saying is that I have traded with him a few times and that he's a great guy to deal with!! To be absolutely clear, I don't own the guitar and have nothing to do with this sale other than to tell you what PM means and that the seller is a good dude. You need to talk to @therealting, not me!!
-
PM = Private Message. You can send @therealting a private message by clicking on his name/avatar. Just for your peace of mind Anthony, I've personally dealt with @therealting a number of times, we've met face to face for a few deals, he's a great seller so if you buy the Godin I'm absolutely confident it'll be a very smooth transaction!

Call yourself a bassist?? 30 years in you should have owned at least a million basses, 15 cats, had your own bee hive and taken a bus to Belgium to meet @Hellzero

Who's Betch?

Wilkinson are perfectly serviceable, and are actually very light and fairly cheap. They would be a good, reliable choice.

I knew you had the Kläppe...

Yeah, but you have to move your arm more...
