  1. Needs longer tassels
  2. Apologies gentlemen, but I can beat that too! I flew to San Francisco on a Friday evening, picked up a bass (a 9 string Pac Man Conklin form Jean Baudin) and flew back on Monday morning. On the Wednesday of that week I did a 1100 mile total round trip to collect a Mesa M-Pulse and Powerhouse cab as well as dropping off 4 of my eBay sales on route! My average speed for every hour of that time frame was in excess of 100mph and I clocked just over 12,000 miles total! Beat that! 😜 I've also taken a bus to Belgium to meet @Hellzero and flew to Croatia to meet @basscell ironically for the exact same bass!!
  3. And, may I submit my 13 string bass as a contender for the most stringiest bass in standard bass tunings. (Sold as the fanning made it utterly unplayable!)
  4. Sorry sir, but I have you beat by one on this particular game! 1979 Ibanez Roadster bought buy me. Then sold, and bought back. Then sold and bought back. Then sold and bought back. Two of the sales/re-purchases were basschat folk too! The bass will now remain with me until death, whenever that might be!
  5. Wise sir. Wise. You'd spend twice your asking price to get something remotely comparable!
  6. That sir is an assumption! I am currently trapped in bed with a sock on my hand and my fear in my eyes.
  7. I think the lesson here is that if you play 4 string bass you're some kind of awesome bass hero that can slay dragons while simultaneously slap-tapping every song ever written at the same time while effortlessly curing all of the world's ailments and feeding every orphan in existence, but if you play 6 string bass you are the reincarnation of Hitler, Pol Pot, Stalin and Wario all wrapped up into one bastardish package. And no, I have literally never exaggerated anything in my life ever!
  8. Can't we just play whatever instrument we want to play without fear of being shot down because 'we haven't mastered the 4 string so should own a 6 string'. Can everyone stop sapping the fun out of music!!! Music is art, art is subjective ergo music is subjective and can darn well be whatever the individual wants it to be! Humbug, humbug to all!!! Yes, even YOU!
  9. I'm pretty sure we can make that work! There's only one or two rehearsal rooms in Basildon that I know of and I'm pretty close to both of them! Let me know the details when you know and we'll get it worked out! 😁
  10. You sir have the thinnest rig I've seen.
  11. Hopefully you guys didn't all 'play' it at the same time, I hear 5 can be a crowd for these things!
  12. Ibanez.
  13. That you would! I picked up my Mesa rig in a similarly discounted sale... paid £2700 for two Mesa Vintage Powerhouse 4x10 cabs and a Mesa Strategy Eight:88 head, full retail would have been £6300. Makes you feel bad for anyone that forked out for full retail!
  14. Whilst we're at it, lob in one of these for £299 and you've got a hell of a set up for £800 instead of £2300 rrp. https://www.andertons.co.uk/offers/epic-deals/tc-electronic-g-system-guitar-effects-processor
  15. Yup. For an extra £150 you can get the 4x10 with it too. https://www.andertons.co.uk/offers/epic-deals/tc-electronic-bass-rig-bundle-rh750-amp-head-k410-cab
  16. Hi all, I was given this Eastcoast acoustic today for free, I've re-strung it with a set of lightly used Elixir poly-web strings. Action is a bit high but if you spend 5 minutes filing down the nut and saddle it'll lower it considerably and make it a very usable guitar. I'm looking to give this to someone who will actually use it, preferably someone who otherwise might not be able to afford an acoustic, or to someone who knows someone in such a position or a kid who's looking to start learning. If you're simply going to sell it, then please don't ask me to give it to you, this is a perfectly good guitar in great condition and I'd really like it to go to someone who fits the above bill and not to someone who wants to make a quick buck. Also, this is collection only from Basildon, Essex. If no one comes forward to take it within a week or so then I'll sell it and donate the money.
  17. Fretless??? You absolute monster! All fretless players are terrible people. 😜
  18. If you're in a standard covers band playing the likes of 'Dakota' and 'Sweet Home Alabama' then sure, but if you play your own original music, a 6 string is a huge advantage and opens up far more possibilities than a 4. Why limit yourself to a 4 when a 6 can do everything a 4 can do and much more!
  19. Tempted... I'm not a million miles away (Basildon). You likely to be aware in the general direction of Basildon at any point soon?
  20. Throw it at a cat? Oh wait, you've said that. Door stop? No... you've said that too... Err... throw it at two cats?
  21. Yes. Yes it is. You'll end up wanting more strings soon... I have several 6 strings, a 7, an 8, a 9 and a 10 string. I once had a 13 string bass too. Roll with it sir, accept your fate... You're now one of us, there is no going back!! One of us... one of us... one of us... one of us...
  22. It took me a while to realise that the speaker wasn't actually mounted in the chair seat like some strange self gratification device! 😂
  23. I'll start the bidding process for @mhoss32 next build... My bid is half a packet of Wotsits and a 'mystery box'*. Let's see someone beat THAT cunning offer! *no guarantee the mystery box contains anything.
  24. £1200 is cheap for an ACG! Excellent basses these - Having owned at some point or another one (or more!) of almost every 'boutique' bass brand out there, ACG are my personal favourite. Currently have 4 of Alan's creations and none will be sold. The build quality is of the absolute highest order, equalled by a very small number of builders and surpassed by none in my opinion. Whoever buys this will love it I'm sure!
