    Go for a burl top! Buckeye Burl can look absolutely astonishing, of Amboyna Burl, Thuya Burl, Maple Burl, all good choices! You're getting a boutique bass made, get a boutique top! Anyone can buy a Sunburst or Red bass off the shelf, why not get something no one else has?

    @Machines - I've seen that Gear4music are selling all of their RedSub Coliseum 6 basses at a reduced price as it seems the manufacturer lied about the spec. They were advertised as having a roasted maple neck and it seems it's actually just a thin lacquer coat to give the impression of roasted maple. If you paid full whack for yours, you might be entitled to some money back!

    Wrap it in a bin liner, lob it down the post office next time you're in town! Almost the same effort as lobbing it in the bin! 😁 So long as the recipient pays postage and understands you're not responsible for any damages it would be better than chucking it in the bin my humble opinion!

    I have minimal experience with Dingwalls, but... definitely get the 6! Once you've gone 6, 5 just seems lacking. If you're on the fence, I'd say go 6 sir. If you don't like it, sell it to me, I've got £15 and a bag of Wotsits with your name on it.

    'Boutique' pedals in general are a bit of a rip off. Most of the time you're paying 50% for the sound the pedal generates and 50% for some poorly painted design that makes it look like a 6 year old has been set loose with a bunch of permanent markers. If you buy them because you like the design then that's fair enough I suppose, but for me I'd rather have a fairly plain enclosure that produces a great sound for half the price. Anyway, you'll be stamping on it when its used so that art work is soon going to be scuffed to buggery!

    All of this is just part of negotiations, I don't understand why people take offence to it! If the seller refuses to engage in any kind of negotiation or worse, gets annoyed when someone wants to get the ball rolling on talks of a sale, then more fool them! Be polite and if you have a number you won't go below them thats absolutely fine. Some people play the game differently, some come in super low to test that water but will up their offer during 'the dance', others might give a number of reasons as to why the can only offer 'X'. Either way, its part of buying and selling!

    Having owned a 'proper' 13 string bass, and knowing the difficulties of having a set of strings made that actually work for standard bass tuning, and looking at the strings on that heap-o-cràp, I do wonder what kind of tuning that thing is in or if its just a random assortment of 17 strings that vaguely look like they've been strung thickest to thinnest.

    £75?? Jesus. Officially the best bargain on Basschat next to the SWR 8X10! If I had ANY even remote need for this I'd buy it. I mean, honestly, you'd get double that on eBay, even with collection only! Someone best snap this up post-haste!
