  1. Looks crap. Send it back, post more biscuit pictures, that's why we're here. Biscuit porn. None of these 4 string things... (Looks lully, my guitarist has a Guild, beautifully made things!)
  2. Mate you proper nearly got the 'sorry we missed you note'! If the timings of your posts are anything to go by you got home with MINUTES to spare! I would have laughed and pointed for a good hour if that happened! 🤣
  3. Clones always end up being evil. The truth is @Jean-Luc Pickguard probably had himself cloned years ago, the clone then used a Men In Black style memory eraser to erase Jean-Luc Pickgaurd's memory of having created the clone. Now the clone is free to intercept all of his parcels and use them for nefarious means.
  4. Photoflame finishes. Because its just a lie! Also, those awful cheap guitars with a massive image of a skull and cross bones or graveyard or other some such 'gothy' picture plastered all over the body. All sorts of no.
  5. At this stage I believe UPS are waiting for you to leave the house, even for just 5 minutes, so they can swoop in and push a 'Sorry we missed you' card through the letter box. Chances are the delivery guy has been waiting in the bushes since Friday just waiting for you to leave.
  6. How this hasn't sold yet with the Pre-Amp and Pickups mods I honestly don't know... I keep looking at it wanting to buy it but I know I'll enjoy it for a few months then just move it on after... £350 for all of this is great money.
  7. But what has he been muting with them? I heard if you strategically place a dish sponge it helps to mute flatulence... 🤔
  8. This is such a good bass in all areas... There is just nothing like it in the world. Noll pre-amp, Lafay pickups, astonishing build quality. It was mine for a few years so I know!
  9. Yup, looks a dead ringer for the early Cort A6. I suspect that Tanglewood had a few sample 'Baron' 6ers made, then Cort took over production. The Baron is a 96 with a serial number of 00064664, not sure how to decode that, but the 000 part might suggest it was a very low number run. In any event, £500 would probably be about where I'd think to value it, I wouldn't expect much more and probably wouldn't take much less if I were to sell it.
  10. I can't see there being a link, nothing about it is reminiscent of Overwater to my eye. I suspect it was likely built in the same factory as the Cort A6 as it is a very similar beast except the wenge neck and the electronics.
  11. Conceivably, yes. But I can verify that. Overwater and Tanglewood do have history, whether that goes back to 1996 I don't know. I could ping a note over to Chris May, he may very well be able to confirm/deny such a link.
  12. Morning all, A few years ago I picked up this bass and after a talk with the manufacturer it appears to be one of about 5 (they think) made with plans then scrapped to put it into production due to the build costs outweighing the RRP they had in mind. It's a 1996 Tanglewood Baron 6 string bass with solid maple wings, a wenge and maple through neck with a gold plated brass bridge, an EMG designed active pre-amp with EMG designed pickups, Gotoh tuners and strap pins, a brass nut and abalone dot inlays. These were individually luthier made in a 'custome shop' and the build quality is absolutely impeccable. The volume knob is a little scratchy but apart from that is really does sound superb. If it had say Spector on the headstock instead of Tanglewood, you wouldn't question the quality. It's hard placing a value on it due to it being a bass never really released for general sale, as well as it having 'Tanglewood' on the head stock and being luthier made. If I were to sell it, based on a figure that would be potentially achievable, what do you think I should be asking for it?
  13. Hi all, So along with my Overwater Progress III 7 string, I'm also looking to sell this spectacular Noguera Bruno Ramos Custom 8 string bass. This thing really is a masterpiece and the tone is just stunning! Yes it has 8 string and has 20mm spacing, but it is very easy to play as the balance and ergonomics are perfect. This would be north of £5000 if ordered today, so my price of £1950 is less than 2/5 of the retail price! Below is a totally non-plagerised description I definitely didn't steal from @Hellzero. Body : 2 pieces red alder from Noguera original stock Top : book matched flamed maple from Noguera original stock with in between veneer out of ebony from Noguera original stock Neck : 1 piece hard rock maple from Noguera original stock (with stiffening rods) Fingerboard : flamed maple from Noguera original stock Frets : 25, yes 25 Headstock : 4 + 4 shape (angled) with flamed maple top from Noguera original stock with in between veneer out of ebony from Noguera original stock Pickups : 2 Noguera single coils hum-cancelling (stacked humbucker) in 60's Jazz Bass position and ebony covers from Noguera original stock Preamp : Noguera 3 bands custom made for this unique bass to Bruno Ramos exact specifications Controls : neck volume (push-pull for active/passive selection), bridge volume, bass, mids (push-pull for 400/800 Hz selection), treble Tuners : Hipshot Ultralite Bridge : Noguera patented 2 pieces flamed maple from Noguera original stock with zinc fully adjustable saddles Strings spacing at bridge : 20 mm Nut : bone Strings spacing at nut : 9 mm Knobs : Custom Ebony knobs, will also come with Noguera wooden knobs from Noguera original stock Scale : 34" Hardware colour : black Truss rods : 2 (fully working) Finish : very light gloss Land of craftsmanship : France Serial number : none as it's a unique model Year : 04/2012 Weight : 5.6 kilos (on the light side for an ERB 8 strings) Action : from 1.5 mm under the F string to 3 mm under the F# string at 12th fret The bass has been fully set up professionally by Christophe LEDUC. It has a new battery and has been fitted with a brand-new set of Kalium BH-190-8BS hybrid nickel round wound strings, except for the F that is plain (19P - 31 - 43 - 59 - 79 -106 -142 - 192). Collection from Basildon, Essex is preferred, however shipping can be arranged if absolutely required. Any questions, please ask! Russ.
  14. Hi all, So I am debating another custom build... as such I'm turning loose this rather splendid 7 string Overwater Progress III bass. It's a beautiful bass in immaculate condition and works exactly as it should. It has a mahogany body with a fantastic quilt maple top and a nice thick ebony fretboard. Looking at the current Overwater price list, this would be near £4500 to have made today, so save yourself over £3000 and buy my one! The tonal palette is vast, you can achieve crisp, bell like, paino-esque tones through to super boomy bass and pretty much everything in between. This is only for sale to fund another custom build, otherwise I'd keep it! It has recessed strap pins that work with Dunlop strap locks. The bridge is the standard Overwater high mass bridge, and excellent piece of design. The pickups are Overwater Kent Armstrong pickups and it had 'factory' custom wood top hat knobs with centre indents. It really is about as good as you can get for a bass! Scale is 35" Spacing at bridge is 18mm Spacing at nut is 9mm weight is 5.9kg All in it is an absolute monster of an instrument in the best of condition made in the UK by one of the finest luthiers. £1400 is a steal for a mint £4400 bass. Collection from Basildon, Essex is preferred, but postage can be arranged. Any questions, let me know!
  15. This cab with @ryancowell25's MarkBass SD1200 would make for a horrendously good rig capable of the full 1200w. At £995 for the pair it's less than £1 a watt!
  16. Sorely tempted to sell a bass to buy this... may very well do that tomorrow!
  17. My PM to you was polite, completely inoffensive and was an offer that you could have just said no to. You didn't need to go down the silly route of asking for £200 postage. All you needed to say was 'No thanks'. Until you edited your thread, your post contained in capital letters a good number of lines saying 'PLEASE BUY ME, MAKE AN OFFER' or words to that effect. My offer wasn't rude or insulting, if you feel like me mentioning your response in this thread is out of line, then that tells me you know your response was uncalled for. You wanted £70 (as per your pre-edited thread), I offered £60 with postage costing £10 netting you £50, I quite understand if it's not enough, that's absolutely fine. Just less of the needless passive aggressiveness next time please. For clarity: Stay classy Frank.
  18. The Markbass SD1200 is a fantastic amp, and at £425 it's a great deal! The headroom on this amp is massive!
  19. Sending a bass uninsured via ParcelForce UK/UK through ParcelMonkey is about £10. I did mention this. But still, the price for postage was £200. If the offer I made was not acceptable, the best option is to say so, and not take the time wasting passive aggressive approach!
  20. So @soldersqueeze is asking £200 for postage. I did ask if that was a typo, but it's not. £200 for postage just in case anyone was thinking of having it posted! I did make an offer, but it wasn't a ridiculous one, so be prepared to pay £200 if you want it posted.
