  1. The only good Oasis is the summer fruits one that comes chilled in a 500ml bottle. Right nice that.
  2. The Happiest of Jack's kindly sent me a 26" TV for cost of postage - just the size I was looking for to shoe-horn into a tight gap! It was delivered within 48hrs and was very well packaged, even with it essentially being a freebie! Top marks all round sir. Another credit to Basschat. 👍
  3. Two major milestone basses for me... My 2nd bass was a 1979 Black/Maple Ibanez Roadster. Definitely my 1st 'proper' bass, one I sold 4 times but always bought back. The last time I bought it back I vowed to keep it, and have managed to keep the promise to myself so far! That's milestone bass #1. Milestone bass #2 (and its a big one both literally and figuratively) is Binky my beautiful 10 string beast. I had him made during my Uni days, I'd never even owned a 5 string, I went straight from a 4 string to a 10 string bass! I ridiculous step-up, but one I do not regret. I will be buried with Binky. If I had to put a number on it, I'd say I've owned north of 2000 basses/guitars over the years (currently there's 40 odd around the house/studio!) and those two, for different reasons are my main 'milestone' basses I think.
  4. I've had a few Ray's and currently have a Bongo 6 HH BFR which is a phenomenal bass. Personally, it's great for me and what I play (a lot of tap style and 'lead bass') so it being hot and cutting through the mix like a hot knife is great - for me. I can very much understand that it's not the right bass for everyone. If you're playing classic rock, covers standards etc, I'd probably not recommend it. But, that's just my humble opinion!
  5. Or challenging them to a gladiator style pugil stick fight. That's always an option.
  6. To play devil's advocate, and this doesn't seem to be the case with this particular experience, but I have bought things from trusted people where there ends up being an issue with the item totally unknown to the seller, so long as everyone is on the same page about coming to a positive resolve, then no worries.
  7. I believe I may have owed 80% of all basses in existence at least for a short period of time... WAY to many have passed through my hands over the years to post. Here's a highlight... there have been, currently are, and will be many more.
  8. Went to Wunjo just for a browse, the bass guy said "please feel free to take anything off the rack and have a go". Even with this, I felt compelled to ask him if it was OK to try the 1958 Fender Precision bass they had - I was up front and said I wouldn't be a buyer but would love to give it a go, he said that was absolutely fine and told me a bit about the history. I gave it a play for 10 minutes or so, thanked him for being a gentleman and went about my day. Great service from Wunjo - even though I was there only to browse, I'm now probably going to look to them for sundries in the future purely because the guy was a gent and was happy to oblige a tyre kicker that admitted upfront about being a tyre kicker! Good show Wunjo. Good show. 👍

  10. For anyone in the market... £299 seem pretty cheap for a T-Bird Pro. https://www.cashconverters.co.uk/shop/music-tv--video/musical-instruments/guitars--string-instruments/bass-guitar/046600077099
  11. Any thoughts as to the starting cost for a 6?
  12. @attitude67 - probably best to have this conversation via private message!

I had one for a while, they are good, but I found it extremely complex to operate and even once I was comfortable navigating it, I sold it because it was just too much of a pain in the arśe to live with. If you're OK with complexity and are happy with it not being super user friendly, then they are worth a look.
  14. Cool 'mini' rig... If I had space for a 4th rig I'd be strongly considering this - you're only 45 mins away too!
  15. I did exactly that with Biffy Clyro. Saw them at a gig with about 15 people there 20 odd years ago. T'was my plan all along!!! Bwa ha ha ha ha! (That was an 'evil' laugh by the way...)
  16. Falling down the stairs for eternity would win over Oasis.
  17. Sounds great with the ACG...
  18. I had an AD200B with a matching 410 and 115 years back, a fantastic sounding rig that looked awesome too. If your spine can handle the weight, there's nothing quite like looking at (and playing with!) a full Orange stack.
  19. Many of us are/have been/will be again on a quest to find that perfect light weight rig - with that in mind I think we should take the time to celebrate the heavey rigs out there! I've been back and forth between various heavy and light rigs for years, while undoubtedly a light rig is more convenient and less erosive on the spine, I just prefer the general tone of the heavy boys! Let's share some photos of heavy rigs that we currently own, or have owned. Currently, I'm knee deep in the heavies with the below 3 rigs: Eden WT1205 and Eden 610XLT cab Epifani UL901 and Epifani 610 cab Marshall VBA400 with Jubilee 410 and 115 What heavy beats have you got/did you have?
  20. I had a suspicion some kind of camera goggles may have contributed to the taking of this photo... Clearly you needed to have at least 2 fingers from each hand on the table, thus preventing you from using standard photo taking apparatus. 😉
  21. What kind of wizardry is happening in this photo!! Are your eyes cameras? Do you have a 3rd hand? Are they not your hands?
  22. Comes with a personalised set up and new set of strings when you buy it too... at £1600, that's not unreasonable. Worth the extra £100 on its own, just about!
  23. If having a multiscale bass is an absolute definite, then you won't go far wrong with the Ibanez, they are very good instruments - and as you say much lighter and more compact than the Dingwall. If multiscale isn't an absolute definite, your options will open up more. As someone mentioned, ACG are outstanding things - I currently own 6 of them.
  24. Excellent wireless systems these... have been using one for a good few years without missing a beat. @Rich77 I think there's a belt clip on the other side, though mine is in a little padded pouch so can't quite remember!
