£280 would’ve been a steal!
-
I have a early 500evo RC, the one with two inputs rather than an active/passive button
-
I love my EBS TD650 but I’m so tempted to try an AMB600. They’re obviously becoming more appreciated, when I was looking at getting one a while back, you could easily pick them up for around £350, don’t see many at that price now!

The older ABM’s are such bargains. I listed my 500evo RC on here for something like £125, and didn’t get a single enquiry. After a few days I thought “what am I doing, if it’s only gonna fetch £100 I may as well keep it as a spare!” I had a MAG810, it was only about £350 brand new. I gave it away to another basschatter when I stopped using it. There’s some real Ashdown bargains out there

I did indeed. It performed flawlessly. Even with the recessed socket of my Dingwall, the transmitter sat snugly in place. It was fully charged before the gig, I popped it back in the receiver during our break, but the light stayed green all night, so the transmitter battery life is good. The power draw is quite low, even when the transmitter is on charge, so the CS6 runs it no problem at all. I’m pleased with it

I’ve got 2 signature basses. Both very different in their approach, the raw power of the passive DiMarzios in the Yamaha, the 18v 3 band Darkglass tone capsule in the Dingwall. The neck on the Yamaha feels enormous compared to the NG2 and my Warwick. Love them both though

They are awesome basses. Mine is in the shop having some wiring done at the moment. Can’t wait to have it back!
-
Got the X Ultra and Boss WL-50 on there now
-
I normally end up at the bar doing shots with our drummer after gigs. Much to the annoyance of our singer( he drives the van and moans that he’s always waiting on us two) so there’s no chance of a food stop on the way home. Whatever is in the fridge when I get home will suffice!

I’ve seen FF live about 10 times, some of my greatest memories are from FF gigs. I’m genuinely gutted. RIP Taylor

I once played a Wal that used to belong to John Paul Jones, I hated it and couldn’t wait to give it back
-
To be honest, I played it mostly on just the bridge pickup. They’re awesome basses though. The preamp is so hot, small adjustments make big changes

There it is, along with my, also since departed, Stingray

The 4 string Bongo in the stealth finish was averaging at around £1850 at most retailers. I trawled the internet for days. Even to the point of speaking with Beaver Felton in the US about the possibility of giving him a holding deposit so that a friend could collect it for me while on holiday the following month. Then I came across an ad for a shop in the Netherlands who had some Bongos on their website, but not a Stealth. I emailed and asked by any chance did they have a Stealth 4 string in stock, and got a swift reply saying they only had one and it was a 4HS. I asked the price, including shipping, taxes etc and it was £1250 for the bass plus shipping. He got me a fixed quote and it came in at around £1285 all in. I ordered it on the Tuesday and and it was on my doorstep by Thursday morning

I bought it in 2014!
-
No doubt! Looking at prices now, it’s staggering that I paid about £1250 for my 4HS Stealth brand new!
-
I always thought the orange and tangerine Bongo would’ve looked great with black hardware
-
I’ve got a rehearsal Wednesday and a gig Friday so I’ll report back 👍
-
I haven’t tried it yet, I only got it on friday. I read a lot of reviews that spoke highly of it though. The CS6 should run it easily enough, it only draws 60mA while in use. It draws 320mA while charging, but the transmitter should last a gig without needing charge
-
Got the Boss WL-50 on the board now. Only temporarily as I’m changing it all onto a Nano+ on Monday, so I can mount a CS6 power supply underneath
-
What an epic story! So pleased for you @AndyTravis! Seems crazy to think that I paid £1250 for my 4HS Stealth brand new! They were quite vilified back then, due to the looks. Glad more people have realised what a beast of a bass they are. I certainly wish I still had mine
-
Like a starter set compared to some of the epic boards here, but just swapped out the Lomenzo Hyperdrive for the Microtubes X Ultra. It’s a bit spaced out at the moment because there’s a Boss WL-50 to go on it too

Just bought a Darkglass pedal from Ian. Really smooth transaction. Great communication throughout. Pedal arrived less than 48hrs after he posted it, and superbly packed. Very highly recommended
