  1. These look like a really versatile pedal. I heard a demo of one on a fairly low gain setting and it sounded epic!
  2. The drummer from The Brilliant corners is a very good friend of mine, and I used to be in a band with the guitarists brother.
  3. Wayne punkdude is still around, I see him on some Fb sales pages and musicians groups. There’s quite a few names that have come up in this thread that I’d forgotten all about! I remember Xliddx pretty well, could be pretty robust when debates got heated. Also remember the fact that he wore gloves when playing and owned a Warwick Chrometone Streamer. I remember Billbass or billonbass(?) he lives not far from me, he probably left when he got the Rag n Bone man gig. He’s a monster player and a really great guy too
  4. Try some Mark King tape before it was Mark King tape. I think it’s made by Fender and you can only buy it at Macaris
  5. That’s an absolute steal
  6. I too gassed for so long for one of these. When I finally decided to go back to heavyweight though, I just couldn’t find one anywhere. Fantastic amps
  7. I’m getting the inpression that you’re not fond of Darkglass products. I might be wrong though, it wouldn’t be the first time. Just a hunch
  8. Watched it a few times now, Nate Navarro is a beast of a player
  9. Demo by Nate Navarro
  10. I think an AO ultra would be more than adequate for my needs. I use backline more than in house PA, so I’ve always got my EBS TD650 and Barefaced Big Twin 2 behind me. There just doesn’t seem to be a huge difference in price for what appears to be a lot more pedal. Would be nice to set up three presets for various levels of drive/tone. I only use flat out distortion on a few songs, the rest is more of a subtle drive. I found a sound clip of the AO ultra with a hump in the mids, the drive only on about 10 o clock, blend about midday, and the mod all the way to the alpha side, and it just sounded so good!
  11. The more video reviews and demos I watch of the AO, the more I like it. Definitely seem to prefer it more biased to the alpha side though
  12. It certainly looks super versatile. It’s way overkill for what I’d need, but I do love the options it gives. I was leaning towards a B7K ultra in the new year, but for not a massive amount more, this seems like such a good option.
  13. Has anyone been tempted enough to actually pull the trigger yet?
  14. I saw the other Darkglass video with the same guy demoing 6 pedals. He can certainly play!
  15. Agree, am also looking forward to seeing Nate demo it
  16. Cool. I’d only seen the Nicki Tedesco video until today. Be good to see an in depth vid from Darkglass, like the ones Chris Kollias did for B7k ultra etc
  17. There’s a 10min review video by Patrick Hunter up on YouTube now
  18. I think maybe down the line a little, it could be good for Darkglass. Not everyone will want to spend £1000 on 2 pedals, but if you could buy one and then a software package to load into your pedal, at a reduced cost to the whole pedal, that could be a good option.
  19. I used my M900 in a covers band, covering a lot of genres. I personally think the clean sound of them is a bit of a hidden gem. All the demos, as you say, seem to concentrate on the dirt channel, but they do clean very well. There’s a YouTube video of Andy Irvine playing a yellow Dingwall through a M900, where he stays on the clean channel.
  20. It would be interesting if you could buy one physical pedal, ie the ADAM of the photon, and then be able to buy firmware/software packages from Darkglass, which you could then change in the Darkglass suite
  21. These polls are nonsense. How can he be number 1 in 2021, but it be based on stuff he’s done over 40 years??
  22. Just did a quick Google search, at almost £2k it’s definitely in a very select sector of the market. Having said that, it’s still around £800 cheaper than a DB751
  23. A couple of years ago, after several years of trying out countless Class D offerings from TC, Aguilar, GK, Genz Benz, Darkglass etc, I decided I was going to have one last hoorah with a heavyweight head. I recalled playing through a EBS TD650 many moons ago, so I scoured the used market for one. Found one, and have to say, it’s one of the best gear decisions I’ve ever made. It sounds glorious. It’s not light, but tbh, in a 3u Gator rack bag it’s not too bad to carry with the strap over my shoulder. It’s probably overkill for most situations for me, but once I plug into it, that doesn’t matter. I’m not sure what the quality of their newer products is like, the only other EBS gear I have is a Billy Sheehan drive pedal, which is also great. Are they still making the 802 amp?
  24. My board, which looks like a kids toy up to some of the awesome creations in this thread! The Arachnid Audio switch isn’t used anymore, it was just a channel switch for my old GK amp
