It’s in lovely condition. I was set on a brand new Euro LX in matte black stain but this was too good not to buy. I’ll restring it with my preferred EB Cobalts and give it a couple of tweaks, it’s got Rotos on it at the moment which are lighter gauge (40-100) than I normally use, and just a little touch of string buzz on the E string, but overall I’m very happy. Less than two hour round trip and the owner was a super nice guy too.

Just got back from collecting this. Very happy.

Possibly have a gloss black Euro LX incoming. Just in the process of arranging a suitable time to go try it out. Exciting few days ahead!
-
Glad you like it! It’s a great amp, I’ll probably end up with another one some day
-
I gave it a run out at rehearsal last night, just for peace of mind as it hasn’t been used for a couple of months. It sounded great, to the point I was questioning my decision to sell it! However, it’s far too nice an amp to be sat in my house as a spare, so I’ll see you later!

The OLP Tony Levin 5’er that’s in the classifieds, great bass for a little over £200

I do love the idea of all maple with EMG pups and pre amp, but I think my mind is set on that matte black LX. I have an all maple NS2000, which I lent out to a ‘friend’ years ago for his daughter to learn on. It came back in a sorry state and I’ve since found out that when she got her own bass, they stored my NS in an attic, and not in any kind of case. The strings were rusty! I’ve changed strings and given the whole bass a clean up, but there’s hardly any output volume, and plugged into my headphone all I get is a high pitched squeal. So part of my thinking is, go for the LX and then upgrade the pups and pre in the NS to some better EMG’s and have two different flavours.

I think my mind is pretty much set on a Euro 4 LX in matte back stain, but I do love the blue and gold finishes of the Euro classic. Just out of interest, do the classics suffer with neck dive due to the lightweight body, and do they lose anything sonically by having chambered wings?

Has anyone bought one of the Ethos HP models? Interested to know how it stacks up compared to the Euro models -
Who's finally happy with their rig?
ern500evo replied to Jean-Luc Pickguard's topic in General Discussion
I wanted one for years, they just always came up used at the wrong time. When this one came up in the for sale section here, I’d only just bought an ABM600, but I couldn’t not take the opportunity to finally own one. So glad I did, it’s a fabulous amp. The first gig I did with it was in a place with notoriously bad acoustics. I set it flat for the soundcheck and was blown away by how good it sounded. If you ever see one available second hand, jump on it, you absolutely won’t regret it! -

I’m more than happy with my current amp and cab. I’ve owned the Big Twin 2 pretty much since they were launched, and not once have I considered changing it. The GK Fusion is a fairly new addition. It’s a wonderful combination. Last couple of gigs I’ve done, I haven’t even engaged any pedals. Only thing I still want to add is a Spector Euro 4LX. -
It’s a fantastic amp. I’d on just bought an ABM600 when a Fusion 550 came up for sale but, like you, I’d had gas for one for so long I just had to buy it. I really like my ABM, and I’d had a EBS TD650 just before that, but the first time I used the Fusion I was completely sold, it just sounds so good!

I agree, £300 for a 10.1 and a 4x 10 seems crazy cheap. I think they’re also a bit of an unknown quantity. There’s not too many of them around, so a lot of people aren’t even aware of their existence. To be honest, If I didn’t love my GK Fusion 550 so much, i’d probably buy it and then just sell the cab on
-
There’s one on marketplace for £300 which includes a 4x10 cab. They don’t seem to have a very good resale value, possibly due to the reliability issues that a number of users encountered with the 10.1. They are fantastic sounding amps, trading my 5.1 is one of the few amp regrets that I have.

That’s not a bad idea at all!

Would be interesting to hear a direct comparison between the LX and Euro classic, just to see how the alder/tonepump combo compares to the maple/EMG preamp combo.

Keep getting drawn towards the Euro LX in the matte black stain. I love the finish and the all black hardware. Lovely looking bass. Having said that, the new gold and blue colours on the Euro Classic are pretty fantastic too

Putting my 1998 Warwick SS1 up for sale. Not something I thought I’d be doing any time soon, but gas has got the better of me. It’s a 1998 in Ocean blue, which I bought from a fellow BC’er. It’s had the hardware changed to black and I’ve had an Aguilar OBP-3 preamp installed. It will come with the original gold hardware, but I no longer have the original MEC preamp, it was faulty, hence the OBP-3 (which is a much better preamp anyway, imho) The bass does have a few nicks and scars here and there, as you would expect from a gigged 25yr old bass, but nothing major, as you can see from the pics, some of the finish blemishes just look like small white dots. It’s strung with 45-105 Ernie Ball Cobalts, which have only done one gig and two rehearsals. One of the main reasons for me wanting this bass, was the fact you don’t see many stage 1’s in ocean blue. It’s a fab colour. I’m sure I’ll regret this, but the Spector gas is too strong at the moment! I’m afraid it doesn’t come with a case or bag, so will have to be collection/meet up only unfortunately. I’m based in Bristol but happy to travel 50 miles each way for a meet up. You’re welcome to come and try it out at my house, I’ll just need a little bit of notice so I can bring my amp and cab home from rehearsal space. Edit: The ying yang fret markers are just stickers, so easily removed if needs be Edit to add, not looking for any trades on this one as it’s only being sold to fund something else. Thanks
