Just put a paper bag over everybody's head, play a recording of some nice music and have a crafty Sherman.
With this kind of cunning thinking you are my new hero! -
If he can't nail it, make him feel better by telling him John Mayer couldn't nail it either! 😀
That's excellent customer service! I haven't noticed this problem on my RH750 yet (but I've only had it less than a week!). I'll keep a eye open for my knobs dropping off now...
I think the later ones have better quality knobs, so if yours is a newer one you should be fine.
Jennie, send a quick email to TC support. They have some new redesigned ones that fit better and are more solid. They'll send you some for free and theyll arrive in double time in my experience. Steve
+1 I emailed them just before xmas to enquire where I could buy a replacement volume knob and shift button, 2 days later a full set of knobs and full set of buttons arrived in the post, free of charge. They accept that the earlier ones weren't great and will replace them for free.

Did a headline slot with the originals band at a Big Lebowski themed party at The Lanes in Bristol on Friday. Having never watched the film properly it all went over my head a bit really! It was the venue's first gig with their new PA and the soundcheck took forever! By the time we played at 11.15 the sound engineer had ironed out most of the problems though so apart from a few odd moments of low hum feedback it sounded good. Good appreciative crowd and some good feedback from people after which was cool. Have gone back to using my Ashdown hyperdrive pedal, and after some time spent at rehearsal this week tweaking the settings on the pedal and eq on the Shuttle 9.2 to suit the cab, finally got it sounding just how I want. Used my Streamer LX and had a lovely driven, gritty tone but still with a fat, well defined bottom end. Well pleased.

If it's the Hells Bells from Bristol, my friend was their 'Angus' for quite a few years.
Both?
I'd have to get a stealth black carrier bag for the Bongo, don't want it to clash with the finish! 😊 -
You could always put a carrier bag over the headstock?
On the Bongo or the V7?? 😀 -
Squier VM Jazz incoming?
Would be really interested to hear the V7 and a VMJ A/B'd. I'm guessing the pre-amp on the V7 will give it the edge and justify the small extra cost. Like I said Mark, I play a Bongo so you'd think I wouldn't be worried about aesthetics! -

I am so tempted by the V7 in white, been finding myself drawn to Jazz basses in that colour scheme lately. I really don't need another bass but at that price it seems almost rude not to! The only snag is that every time I look at the pics I get to the headstock and think, hmmm it is pretty grim. I play a Bongo for Christ sake, you'd think the look of the headstock would be the last thing to bother me! 😀 -
I tend to just Bluetooth everything from phone to Orbitsound soundbar now. Would still love a really nice amp/speaker set up but like most modern things, convenience wins. We have a lot of bbq's and people around in the summer and it's just so easy to select a spotify playlist on my phone, switch soundbar on and let it run. Bit of a cop out I know, but I like the easy life! 😊

The best steakhouse I've ever been to in Manhattan is a place called Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. It's on 51st between 6th and 7th avenues, not cheap but the food was fantastic. Some of the open top bus tours are good too, you can hop on and off all day. I can't remember the name of the one I did but the buses were like a burgundy and cream sort of colour, you can haggle with them and get the uptown and downtown loops for a pretty good price. The Twin tower memorials are also well worth a visit, beautifully understated. Can't agree enough with the take comfortable shoes, you will walk a LOT! Don't know how long you're going for but its worth maybe making 2 lists of activities, one list of things that you most definitely want to do and a second list of things you'd like to do if time allows. Time flies and it's easy to get to the last day and realise there's loads you still want to do. Most of all just enjoy, take it in, it's an amazing place. I've been to plenty of places and if I could only ever go back to one place I've visited I'd pick NY without hesitation. I absolutely love the place.

Would be good to hear one of these A/B'd with a Squier VMJ or CV. -
I've got both. I had the RH750 first, then bought the Shuttle 9.2 just because I fancied trying something different. My thoughts are this, the 750 is a good amp with a cracking feature set, 3 memory presets, built in tuner, on board compressor and TubeTone, and with the foot controller it's very versatile. However, I find with my Barefaced Big Twin 2, the Shuttle just seems to work better. It's very clean with superb clarity but you can dial in some tube warmth if you want it. I will say though, I spoke to a friend who has a RH750 and his verdict is that his RH works far better when he uses it through TC cabs. If you will make use of all the features on the RH they are great, but if the presets, compressor, TubeTone are not going to be of much use to you I'd go with the Shuttle.

I bought an amp from a guy who had a SR1205, I used it to try the amp out and have to say it was one of the nicest basses I've ever played.
There is a Barefaced Big Twin 2 in the Classifieds. All the cab a rock bass player needs to dominate the world.
+1! I can't believe it hasn't sold yet. They are amazing cabs, you simply can't believe the amount of oomph they deliver. You definitely wouldn't be lacking with one of these. I'm not a BF fanboi, they might not be to your taste, it works brilliantly for me but you should try as many as you can. There's some real good 2x12's on the market at the moment, I love the look of the Berg CN212, berg's always look classy.

Had a bass Pod XT Live from Hector. Top guy to deal with, pod arrived in original box and very well packed.

I've never worn jewellery of any kind so wearing a ring took a bit of getting used to. I started off leaving it at home when gigging, the first gig with it on was when I forgot to take it off, and then I only noticed I still had it on when I was driving home! It'll feel normal in no time for you. Congratulations.

Small pub gig last night, strange sort of split level layout of the place means it's hard to gauge how busy it is from the 'stage' area, but as the night went on more people crammed into the upper level where we were playing and it turned out well. Combination of Bongo, Shuttle and BT2 sounded huge, but still struggling to adjust and find a comfortable spot to rest my thumb, I end up resting it on the corner of the humbucker which leaves a lovely sore dent in my thumb! Was chatting to a bass playing friend about it after the gig and came to the conclusion I'm gonna have to get a thumb rest fixed to the scratchplate or possibly have a scratchplate made with a dummy pickup attached just in front of the humbucker slot. I'm so used to having a P pup in that central position on my streamer that it's a bit alien to me. Funny I don't feel the same problem with my stingray though!
