1.
The RH750 solves the problem with the top end btw for anyone that didn't know!
Think I'm going to have to try a 750, I like the sound of the 450 and the feature set is great but I do miss some top end sizzle.
2.
I bought a CN212 last weekend... It's fantastic. Best thing i've ever bought. Only 20kgs(ish) and an incredible sound. Highly recommended.
Berg cabs ooze class. My BIg Twin 2 is an amazing cab, but if I ever fancied a change Berg would be top of my list.
3.
[sub]Check out my Mesa Boogie Powerhouse 4x10+15 in the for sale section.[/sub]
+1 Awesome cab!
4. I was in your position too, wanting lighter cabs. I had reservations about it being enough, my last few cab set-ups have been Trace 1x15+4x10, Ashdown 8x10, Warwick WCA 115+ either 411 or 211. This thing handles everything I throw at it with ease, no need for back breaking cabs for me anymore! I've also heard great things about the Bergantino CN212, I'm sure there's a few users of those on here who can give you the lowdown on those.
5. I've never used a GK head through it (was hoping to get use of a 1001rb over xmas but didn't happen) but if you ever venture up to Bristol from Devon you're welcome to try out my Barefaced Big Twin 2. It sounds massive, the build quality seems fine to me (I've only had this BF cab so I can't comment on issues others have had with previous gen cabs), can handle huge amounts of power but can be carried with one hand if you want to.
6. NV610's are amazing cabs. Beautifully built and sound fantastic. If I was in the market for a big cab at the moment, I'd be seriously tempted by that Mesa Boogie Powerhouse in the FS section though!
7. There's a used LMT in the for sale section now!
8.
My local repair tech is extremely experienced and has seen every brand of amp on his bench at some stage. He even manufactures his own valve amps. He is very complimentary of other brands particularly Ampeg and Trace from a repair point of view and Genz Benz for using good power modules. However he advised me to steer clear of TC Electronic amps, so thats one brand I wouldnt go for.
Did he say why? Just curious as I use an RH450. Mine's been 100% reliable so far, but it's always handy gaining knowledge from people in the know.
9. The contemporary jazz is pretty tempting at £329. As is the Aspiration Elite 5 at £399.
10. My wife wanted Pachelbel's Canon in D as her entrance music, I know we had Marvin Gaye's Let's get it on, but I can't remember if that was before ceremony or signing register, and we left to Everlong by Foo Fighters. Hope you have a great day, best piece of advice I received was, get everyone to take loads of pics/videos because the day flies by and you won't take half of it in,
11.
Drugs and hookers...
An excellent choice sir!! Add in Discreet's cowboy boots and we got ourselves a party!!
12. A MusicMan Bongo stealth. 6 months ago I would've laughed if you'd told me I'd be gassing for one, I hated the looks! Then I watched that video of the guy comparing Fender P, J, Bongo, Ray and a boutique fretless, and absolutely loved the sound of the Bongo.
13.
but thinking about I owned a warwick tube path 10.1 it made it through 30mins of rehearsal before it went pop! Sounded pretty good for the time it worked lol
Before I bought my Tubepath 5.1, everyone I spoke to about it told me under no circumstances buy the 10.1, they have zero reliability! Have no idea why though, the 5.1 never gave me any trouble at all.
14. He was probably a BC'er! :-)
15. The Berg NV412 currently in the FS section.
16.
Rubbish quality picture but I finally found an excuse to use the full rig. It sounded utterly awesome I have to say.
Jesus Christ on a f**king bike, that must sound immense!!!
17. My new Barefaced Big Twin 2, and my RH450. Only used for a couple of rehearsals and gigs up to now, but liking it! Having said that I'm possibly gonna borrow a mates GK 1001RB-I I over xmas and see how it sounds through the BT2.
18. I imagine it would be ok, as I said mine was a 4u and all I had in it was a 2u head and a 1u tuner which was very shallow so there was quite a bit of space inside the rack. Having said that I've seen plenty of local players using 2u amp heads in 2u rack cases so I imagine it'd be fine. As for the chrome bars, going by the measurements the lids are 1.5" in depth so you should have no issue there.
19. It says total rackable depth 14.5", just measure your amp from front to back. I had the standard one which is about 16-17" and it used to house a Warwick Tubepath head, with the chrome grab bars on the front, easily.
20.
Got my ROQSOLID cover for my Big Twin 2. Perfect. Looks great in black with red piping, tough as old boots and fits like a glove. Money well spent!
Glad it fits ok, they used the measurements I sent them from mine! Phew!!
21. My personal faves: Led Zeppelin 2 Black Sabbath- Heaven and Hell Van Halen 1
22.
Im enjoying playing `Accident Prone` by Snakecharmer and `In a Broken Dream` by Thunder at the minute, neither song id heard of till i had to learn them.
Rod Stewart's vocal on the original Python Lee Jackson version of In a broken dream is great.
23.
we have a winner....
Leper would be a step in the right direction!! :-D
24.
I own a Barefaced cab and a Rick......I feel like a leper.
You think you've got it bad, I own a Barefaced, a Warwick, and TC and Ashdown heads!!
25. http://bit.ly/1eG1aqB I used to use a sports bag but have just started using one of these that I had lying around from my days as a network engineer. You can get them from any CK tool distributor.
