1. My '09 Warwick Streamer LX4, Warwick Tubepath 5.1, and WCA 211,411 &115 cabs.
2. My '09 Streamer LX4. Excuse the poor pic quality!
3.

Über cool!
4. Bought a Warwick cab from J, great guy to deal with, friendly and even held the cab for a week for me. Would have no hesitation in dealing with him again (even if he was so busy practicing he didn't hear me ringing the doorbell!! )
5. I'll take the cab if you still have it. I'm in Turkey until Friday 26th, but could meet up and pay cash on Sat 27th if that's any good to you. If you PM me a reply I'll check back tomorrow sometime as I can only get wi-fi in certain parts of the resort. Cheers Lee
6.
I've played in that band....!
I think most of us have...!
7. The Spector Q4 that waynepunkdude is currently selling in the for sale section, can't go wrong for £150. But then again I own a Spector so I'm biased!
8. Brilliant bits of kit, got one on my Spector and shall be ordering one for my Warwick shortly. As someone has already mentioned, there's a guy in the states who sells them on eBay which works out cheaper. I bought the one on my Spector while I was on holiday over there for about $45.
9.
Yeah this topic has been done, but cant come to any harm can it! . And I keep forgetting his name but the bloke in Costello's Attractions. Dan
Bruce Thomas
10. Nate Mendel Deon Estus
11.
I'm sure I read recently that he's an endorsee for TC Electronics now?
He's been using TC gear recently, can't imagine they'd be too happy that one of their biggest endorsee's is on prime time tv with a trace amp right behind him!
12.
Nice Trace combo he had there.
Very nice, is he not using TC stuff anymore then?
13. Whatever the wife has decided to iron for me while i load the car! For most gigs i wear jeans and a black shirt, and then comes the difficult part of choosing which colour trainers from my vast collection of Converse Allstars and Adidas Gazelle's.
14. Sorry to repeat what's already been said many times, but your best plan of action is a set-up. Whether it be by a professional or a helpful BC'er. Ignore the cost of the bass, a £5000 bass can play like sh*t if it's not set up properly. If you'd rather take it to a shop than have someone come do it for you, get yourself on a bus/train/coach into Bristol and take it to Eltham Jones who now works out of Mickleburgh's. He set up my old USA P bass for about £45 and the difference was amazing. He's not there every day so give him a call first, his number is 07971 240296. Hope you get it sorted because Spector's are great basses to play, even the cheaper one's, My NS2000 was about £450 and i can't imagine me ever parting with it. Good luck with getting it sorted.
15.
I don't know if it helps, I wanted one for years and years, finally I got to play on one at a jam session, this one was natural with a plastic black scratchplate, two pickups, it was horrid, really horrid, almost unplayable - the neck felt like it was warped, the action was incredibly high and it still buzzed and farted all over. I handed it back with glee as my battered old Fender copy was returned to me... I still want one though - even though the one I tried was so utterly crap, the sound was like nothing else I have played since!
A friend of mine has a Wal (not sure of the model) that used to belong to John Paul Jones, and as much as i wanted to love it (as much for the JPJ connection as anything), when i played it i hated it! I just couldn't get on with it, the pickups were too far into the body for me to find a comfortable place to rest my thumb and i couldn't wait to give it back. It was at a jam night so didn't get much chance to talk to him about it. I'll have to try it again, at a time when i can take some time to get used to it, i'm sure it was more me than the bass!
16. Good lord, that is a stunner!! Good luck with the sale.
17. Congrats. I spent 5 yrs doing permanent nightshifts of 7pm to 6am, with a 90 minute journey each way on top of that. I used to leave home before my wife arrived home and she'd be gone by the time i got home in the morning. Rehearsal time with the band was virtually non existent, and as a result the set starting becoming stale as we had so few opportunities to get together and do new stuff. I still work nights now but 10 minutes from my house and i don't start until 10.15pm and i'm home by 7.30am, and i only do Mon-Thurs, so i get to rehearse with the band and have tea with the wife. Much happier and i'm not walking around like a zombie all the time where i'm so knackered! Enjoy the extra "you" time, it's a great feeling!
18. Love Faith No More, saw them live in Paris years ago and they were fantastic.
19.
Gig was ok,,,car is a write-off
Sorry to hear that, hope you're ok man.
20. Amazing, absolutely love it!
21.
^This^ Hells Bells (AC/DC tribute) are playing locally soon, and I'll certainly be getting tickets. I've seen them a couple of times before and they have been excellent. I'm unlikely to get the same 'intimate' experience from the real thing, assuming they are touring anywhere near the UK in the forseeable future. I think there's a certain amount of snobbery in some of the responses to this thread. Yes, probably all of us would like to be in a top original band - however the majority of us will probably never reach those heights. I have a feeling that some of the site members here are in tribute or covers bands, and other members could perhaps be a little more supportive. However the occasional negative sentiments do not reflect the overall positive vibe of basschat. There are good & bad tribute acts, the same as there are good and bad bands of all genres. <Puts tin hat on ready for flaming>
A very good friend of mine, who i used to be in a band with, was the lead guitarist in Hells Bells for several years. They did some really big gigs to massive crowds all across the UK and in Europe so i guess there's plenty of people who have no problem with tribute bands!
22. I've had my NS2000 from new, they are such great basses, especially for the price. In comparison to my Warwick, it's quite heavy and the neck is chunkier but it just feels right. A few basses have come and gone in the 12 years I've owned it but I can't see me ever parting with it now. In fact, I've instructed the wife that when I pop my clogs she's free to sell all my other gear but the Spector goes in the ground with me!!
23.
.Going to gig with some D'Addario Prosteels this weekend though so time will tell!
If you like zingy, you'll love Prosteel's! Been using them for a while now, had a set with a duff E string, quick email to D'Addario, couple of complimentary sets arrived less than 48 hours later, so great strings and great service.
24. Aaarrgghh, my f***ing eyes!! That is hideous beyond belief!
25.
I know you are right so I'm in the best of company. If I can afford one and there's room here then there's no reason why not to. My dogs can't really object . Here's to healthy obsession .
I sold my '05 USA P last year (I'd owned it from new), I bought it because I was doing some stuff with a friends blues/classic rock band. Once I stopped doing that I didn't really use it much, so after 4 years of hardly any use I decided to move it on and get a Warwick (which I'd wanted for about 20 years!). Now I love my Warwick and don't regret that part of my decision at all, BUT the number of times recently I've been doing a song and thinking "that fender would've sounded great for this track" , and found myself thinking "just drop the guy you sold it to a message and see if you can buy it back". It's strange stuff that GAS I tell thee!! lol
