I used to use an EHX Bass Balls to cover the vocoder bit in Mr Blue Sky - it's got a gurgly, vowel-like envelope so might work for you. -

The Roger Waters has a maple cap neck - this gives it an extra aggressive snarl to my ears, like Entwistle's Slab. I'd swap the pickup though, not a huge fan of the stock Quarter Pound.
