Wow. So this is where Mark Walker got to! I always loved his videos on YouTube, his playing and tone were fantastic, as was his singing. I have to say I totally get where he's coming from. For years I made excuses for RIC, the sort of "yeah they're a terrible company but if you want "that" sound you have to put up with it", but then I thought, why should we? As I've got older I've found much more pleasant ways to get that sound.

I haven't been too impressed by the look of Ashdown's basses, but I am a sucker for a pink bass! The neck looks particularly sweet.

Sadly when I've seen Cheap Trick live, that technique combined with a 12-string bass and distortion results in a huge mess. Sound techs have enough trouble with a 4 string! As much as I love Tom Petersson and his use of the 12 string, I think his best sound was with the Thunderbird, both live and on record.

Of course they are not normal. They are extraordinary. Not sure what you mean by "octopus music machine" though...
