  2. I adore Type O Negative. In my miserable teenage years I was all about World Coming Down but I now realise the lush romanticism of October Rust is just perfection. Peter Steele is one of those immediately identifiable players, a unique style and tone. It probably wouldn't work anywhere else but for TON it's perfect. I'm so happy I got to see them live.
  3. There’s No Lights on the Christmas Tree Mother, They’re Burning Big Louie Tonight - SAHB
  4. Higher output? The stock pickups are loud! If you like the tone but want a bit more oomph, you might try running it through a TC Electronic Spark or something.

  18. I bought Mark's Joyo Orange Juice, great price and top condition. It's also incredibly small which allowed me to slip it into the house unnoticed. Thanks Mark!

  20. I've given that ZZ Top album a good listen, and there are some surprisingly clean bass tracks on there! But for the dirty songs, I still think it sounds very close to the EBS Billy (not that I expect for a minute that Dusty Hill would have used one!). I've been fiddling with mine and it really helps if I run my cheap Behringer EQ in the dirty loop to pull out the lows, it really tightens up the distortion and doesn't interfere with the clean lows. That said, on the ZZ Top recording, the tone of the bass is doing most of the work - the distortion is the seasoning.
  21. Dr Robert - Johnny and The Moondogs
