Reviving an old name is always going to have more clout than something brand new, even if the instruments offered aren't particularly reminiscent of the originals. It's certainly got them some attention on here! I do wish they were a bit more similar to the originals, like the Burns reissues.

The same happened to me with Rush of all people. I was really upset at the time, having waited my whole life to see them, and Geddy being one of my heroes, only to be greeted with an indecipherable wall of sub bass. Luckily I saw them again and the matter was rectified 😁 Like you, it's one of the reasons I don't bother with bigger gigs much these days.

I couldn't have put it better myself. "Ill-disciplined rock player" - that's me to a tee 😆 I'm not that good at just holding down the low end... it's more fun to play 10 notes instead of 2. Made my years in pub covers bands a bit interesting though... For me, Entwistle will always be the ultimate bass guitarist, and my greatest teacher, as I literally learnt to play bass by listening to and copying him. The Guv'nor.

DRs! Fantastic. My choice of string, I've never played better. Not tried to Lo Riders, I usually use Hi Beams. What is it they say on Talkbass - woodshedding? Enjoy your time in the woodshed! You know how when you're so familiar with a band, you can find yourself not listening to them so often? That's me and The Who. This thread (and your other one) has sent me right back into them.
