I would recommend leaving the bass tone fully open, then EQing the amp from there.

Same here. Mind you, I dig in hard when playing with my fingers, so there isn't really much tonal difference, just a different attack. I imagine the difference would be greater if your fingerstyle is quite refined.

Same here, never played a Limelight, but have dealt with Mark many times. He's very fair and honest. The only criticism I've ever seen of Limelight is that on some of the more extreme relics thr bridges can be tricky to adjust, but that's a very, very minor quibble and one that may well have been solved over the years.
