  1. I don't think it's an Alembic copy - it's a different shape and offers a lot more adjustment*. Separate bridge and tailpiece wasn't an Alembic innovation. *This isn't a criticism of the Alembic bridge - they are designed to match the instrument so individual string height adjustment isn't necessary.
  2. I bought something extremely special beginning with A from them a few weeks ago (NBD thread imminent). Will's a great bloke to deal with, very fair, friendly and up front, and he gave me a great part-ex offer on my Rickenbacker. They're opening a shop soon, and if this level of service carries on I reckon Bass Direct could have some real competition.

  21. It looks like the cover's on too far back on the pink one.
  22. I've owned many Jazzes over the years - the Roadworn was easily the best. An absolute joy to play. As always, us living at opportunity ends of the country is both a blessing and a curse. GLWTS!
  23. I'm not a player of the Jazz, but I still think they look incredible - that pink one particularly so. That said, should the bridge pickup be sticking out that far from the cover?
  24. When I tried the Alembic, I found my fingers flying all over the neck. I tried a little fiddly bass run I've always struggled to play cleanly - the bass/synth run in Yes' Machind Messiah - and I did it! It's not all guff you know.
