  1. A lovely pedal in superb condition. I love the sound but my Tech 21 DP-3X is meeting my dirty needs. Price includes postage to mainland UK.
  2. How so? He seemed to be pretty involved with it's development.
  3. It's not about effects - it's about the notes. Something as simple as octaves works wonders. The bass and drums should be the solid foundation, with the guitar on top. If the sound weakens when the guitar solos, it's probably dominating at all other times.
  4. It's what we used to shout in the school playground, usually with crossed fingers, to be considered exempt from the game of Bulldog or It or similar.
  5. I believe they always identified as a band comprised of Christians, rather than a 'Christian band'. Dug renounced his faith a few years ago. Incidentally, 'King's X' seems to be the American version of 'fanites'.
  6. I wish that chap Vanya was on Basschat, I'm sure he'd have something to add.
  7. I'm a King's X fan and love Dug's tone - but it's not a sound that works for me (although it is fun to mess around with). This pedal does a lot more than just the Dug sound we expect to hear.
  8. I too was very concerned about the mids of the Dug, but I've now owned one for a year and played it continuously and it has never been an issue. Yes, there is an inherent mid scoop when the mix is engaged, but I've come to realise that this isn't necessarily a bad thing. I've certainly never been lost in the mix with it. As I read on Talkbass, there is a 'mid scoop', not a 'mid void'.
  9. Nice! Are they called Dead Pets or Pet Deaths?
  10. There's so many Beatles covers out there so it's hard to pick definitives, but here's a particularly good one. And for balance...
  11. Now I'm getting The Spotnicks?! 🤣
  12. I can see John Rostill playing with a pick...
  13. I've just ordered a Brassmaster kit to help me try to replicate it!
  14. It's note-perfect from start to finish. Surprisingly, it doesn't feature much of what we consider the classic Squire Rickenbacker tone.
  15. I had a listen on Spotify, out of morbid curiosity. It wasn't pleasant. In a similar mindset I watched some recent footage of the band playing Gates of Delirium. Absolute car crash viewing. The whole thing threatens to derail several times causing Steve Howe to visibly conduct the rest of the band back into order. Geoff Downes simply isn't up to playing Moraz's parts (or Wakeman's for that matter) and bemusedly stumbles through. Davison and Sherwood are competent but complete charisma vacuums. And saddest of all is poor old Alan White, literally propped up beside a small drum kit next to the main one, limply tapping away. I know he's been unwell, but come on. I try to never begrudge an artist from continuing to tour their material, even if it no longer interests me (Brian May and Roger Taylor). But the current Yes is pretty shameful.
  16. Vevey? Did they let you have a go on the organ?
  17. Well with Geoffrey Downes in command it's sure to be a virtuosic masterpiece.
  18. Favourite? The Yes Album. I remember hearing it for the first time when I was 14 as a budding bass player, sitting there with my Eros EB copy and listening to Chris Squire and wondering how the hell he did it. That perfect time when they were really breaking free from their constraints and starting to realise their potential, still full of youthful abandon but before they realised their genius. The joy of this album is palpable. And Chris Squire's bass playing is just wonderful - that little run up to the high registers on Starship Trooper is still my favourite Squire moment. The production is still quite raw and basic but this allows each instrument to shine, but there is still a lot of space for everything to breathe, something they had forgotten about when they got to Tormato As for their best, it has to be Close To The Edge. The very pinnacle of the genre, unsurpassable.
  19. Mature? What's that?! PM me if you do...
