  1. David Crosby?! I wonder if he's read Guy's book...
  2. Frost Hammer - High on Fire
  3. Do They? (Know It's Christmas) - Band Aid
  4. Billy Boo The Gunman - Blossom Toes
  5. Fat Man - Jethro Tull
  6. What was so bad about the Studios? I did try a Studio 5 once - I didn't like it much, but I'm not too fond of 5 strings or modern Thunderbirds so it was never going to work for me.
  7. It's not pointless at all! Instant Machine Head. And it's great when running in stereo for copping the early Geddy and Chris Squire tones. Admittedly, if I'm gigging straight into one amp, the vintage mode isn't really useable live, but in the studio or in stereo it's invaluable - it's what a Rick should sound like to me.
  8. Ah, the Gibson Studio! I haven't played that one.
  9. The bolt-ons have necks closer to Precision size, but they could never be described as baseball bats. My Vintage Pro has a supremely comfy neck - for me. I like a narrow nut but not a shallow profile - this Thunderbird has a nice deep curve to the neck.
  10. I'm Still Standing - Reg
  11. Underground - David Bowie
  12. Calling @Bassassin...
  13. Same Old Song And Dance - Aerosmith
  14. Winter Wine - Caravan
  15. So that's where all those unsold Mavericks ended up...
  16. Raining Blood - Slayer
  17. 25 or 6 to 4 - Chicago
  18. You'll be able to reach no problem. I'm 6ft 3:
  19. Goodbye Pork Pie Hat - Stanley Clarke
  20. Spanish Boots - Jeff Beck
  21. Be Quiet And Drive (Far Away) - Deftones
  22. I've got away with it so far... 😁
  23. It certainly sits and hangs differently to basses with a more conservative design - it's always felt very comfy to me, but I know a lot of people find it too extreme. It's a longer reach to the first fret, for example. It's a cliché but it's one you really have to try for yourself. The Vintage Pro sounds exactly how a Thunderbird should, to my ears. Front pickup, a bit of overdrive - Wishbone Ash, Cheap Trick. Clean it up a bit, both pickups - Quadrophenia. It's a glorious instrument.
