  1. I don't think I 'got' it, but it made me laugh harder than I have in a long time so it gets the thumbs up from me!
  2. That would be an ecumenical matter.
  3. Tim bought my Boss LS-2. No problems whatsoever - good comms and quick payment. A ruddy pleasure.
  4. I did not know that! I'm sure the Excel was originally cheaper as it was a single pickup. However - $7000?! The Epic was £900 when it came out!
  5. It was entry level back in the day ( I bought mine in 1997) but since then Alembic has intoduced the Excel and the Orion. The Orion, I believe, is the same as the Epic but with a differnet body shape.
  6. I didn't really enjoy Emperor of Sand either. It wasn't 'bad', just felt like going through the motions. Mastodon by numbers. Up to this one, all of their albums seemed to be a clear development for the band. Mastodon should never be bland.
  7. For sale, my Cataldo JAEbird. My main bass for a few years but it hasn't been played for a while. These basses are custom made in the US and are replicas of John Entwistle's famous Fenderbirds - a mahogany Thunderbird body with a Fender neck. My one hax a Fender-licenses Allparts Jazz neck. Custom Thunderbucker Ranch 66 pickups, replicas of the original Gibsons. A seriously growly, loud bass. The Elsa sticker can be removed easily - I'll leave it on for now in case it doesn't sell as my daughter put it there 😁 The body has some light dings/wear to the body edge, and a scratch on the front that really broke my heart when it happened! The neck is clean and free of damage. The bass balances well and is very light - just under 8lb. Cataldo were charging £1600 + at the last quote around 2016. The bass comes in a hard case that takes a bit of persuading to close at one end but is functional and does the job. Not really after trades but open to offers! Collection from Dartford preferred but shipping can be arranged.
  8. We all know what these do! This is the second one I've owned but with my current setup it's not getting used. Price includes postage to mainland UK. Collection from Dartford welcome.
  9. Isn't it just? I've taken great glee in pointing it out to others for years. 'Interesting' fact - a very good friend of mine (and fellow bass player) is in a Muse video, dancing somewhere.
  10. If you're feeling particularly ghoulish, look for 'Yes 2018' on Youtube. The recent live clips are horrendous. At the heart of it all is that great festering Downes, ham-fistedly ruining all those wonderful keyboard parts on his Fisher Price. To be fair, Howe sounds like he's about to nod off, but he has done increasingly for 20 years. Billy 'it's what Squire wanted' Sherwood and Jon Davidson try their best but it's just parrot fashion. The timing's all over the place and it feels under-rehearsed. It's getting silly now.
  11. Bloody good it was too! I love watching Lee play. So much happiness in every note. And he's playing upside down/inside out/backwards!
  12. I really like St. Anger. Seriously. Of course it's far too long, same as every Metallica album since Load, and it could do with losing a couple of songs, but I think it's the most honest album they've ever made. The clattering production is a plus for me. But again, I realise I'm in the minority here 😂
  13. Wish You Were Here. I love Pink Floyd - well, the Waters/Gilmour era - but this one leaves me baffled as to where it's merits lay. Or lie. I'm not too sure! I realise I'm in a minority however! Still what do I know - I love Music From The Elder and St. Anger.
  14. Might be worth correcting the spelling of the thread title - if someone on here does a search for 'Gallien Krueger' this one might be missed. Excellent amps btw! I had one for a while.
  15. I'm glad you're enjoying the bass, but remember - killing me is not going to bring back your apples.
  16. Beautiful. It must be a very minor war wound as I can't see it! edit: tell a lie, just noticed it. Still very minor though! Not entirely sure why I don't own one of these...
  17. Tell Ashdown, I'm sure they'll sort it for you!
  18. You want to know why you're happy with what you've got?
