I picked H, but definitely not a Stingray! A nice, simple passive pickup - like a Thunderbucker - right in the P position. Not that that's a particularly common sight, but I reckon that would do the job for me in any situation I found myself in.

I prefer the original with the upside down tuners. Unfortunately it's prone to ham-fisted restringing, like the poor Bass Collections -
I can't remember the exact ones on mine. Hofner flats with a dark green silk wrap. Lovely they are too! I should add that I didn't actually buy the strings myself - the bass was a gift from my Dad a few years ago, and on the advice of Thomann he also bought the strings, a hardcase and replaced the black knobs with Hofner teacups.
