1. Utter, utter majesty. How Yes could even consider carrying on without Jon is beyond me.
 2. So we became The Originals, and we had to change our name as there was another group in the east end called The Originals and we had to rename ourselves The New Originals. Then The Originals changed their name back to The Regulars and we thought well, we could go back to The Originals but what's the point?
 3.
Stephen Amazing (UPP)
+1
 4.
It looks like one but does it sound like one? (I know it's miming on Top of the Pops and it may well not be what was used in the studio but ... hey ... nonetheless ... does it sound like a 66 Slab P?)
Assuming it is a Slab on the recording, the fabled Slab sound seems to be in the treblier end of the tone - thumb-plucking at the neck with (presumably) the tone turned down is always going to result in a more trad sound.

 6.
Does this look like a 66 Slab Precision? http://youtu.be/kM-y1a1oeCo
Yes!
 7. I think the key to JE's tone in the Shepperton clip is his Alembic running in stereo. You'll never quite get that sound without running each pickup independently . I used to own a Fernandes Alembic copy and it nailed that JE tone. Why did I sell it? Idiocy, probably.
 8.
Possibly so. They were out of stock when I placed an order a couple of hours ago.
Give me £20 and you can have mine. 😉
 9. Mine arrived today. I'm a bit worried I've got a duff one as the drive knob does very little - it seems to act as a volume control until the very last turn of the knob when a heavy (and quite unpleasant) farty overdrive kicks in. Surely this isn't normal?
 10. After watching that video Youtube keeps suggesting other lathe-related clips for me. If anyone else is advised to watch 'Industrial Lathe Accident', best avoid. 😯
 11.
Hmm I just looked it up again - are you positive? I'm seeing a lot of neck-thrus for NS2000's... this is a bolt-on, did they do it as a bolt-on? It's definitely more in line with the electronics though that's for sure, as this has a mid-way groove in the bass/treble controls, and no tonepump jr like the Legends have.
The Q4 is the bolt-on version. I think they have the EMG btc pre inside. I've owned two of the through-neck models and deeply regret selling them both. My favourite of all the Spectors.
 12. That's not a Legend - it's an NS2000 Q4. Better than the Legend IMHO, an absolutely killer bass!
 13.

Aaaaarold!! 😊 That's a real dream bass for me, right there. Enjoy your new Spatula bass!
 14. I always found with every Jazz I've owned that almost as soon as you start to turn down a particular pickup, it vanishes from the overall sound leaving the other one dominant. There was a tiny margin of actual blending. So in my case it was either everything on full or neck on it's own.
 15.
It was made in 1991. The name is series 2. Only 380 was made of this modell . It was built with bartolini pickups. The bodyshape is similar to the MVP modell.
Similar to the MVP, just a bit slimmer ☺ GLWTS
 16. Veeeeerry nice... I've seen a few of the two pickup versions but never a single. Let me know if you decide to sell it 😊
 17. Very nice... Not familiar with the body shape though, do you know any more about it?
 18.
While Gibson's bass 2016 production is pretty much zero, a post on another site hinted at Gibson's wholesale dumping of unsold 2015 models into European online sites. Thomann are offering the 2015 Thunderbird (vintage sunburst with the coil toggle switching, EB pickups and Babicz bridge) for £875 and the 2015 SG Standard (chrome hardware/Babicz) is £650. P
There was a similar sale on at DV247 a couple of months ago, but a bit cheaper IIRC... I nabbed a beautiful Les Paul bass for just £649. Sadly it weighed an absolute tonne so I returned it.
 19.
So who's the one who can photoshop a Sea Foam Green, single chrome cover pick up (P position please) TBird or Explorer bass. PLEASE! At last a screensaver to lust at
Not just a chrome cover, but an actual 60s-spec pickup!
 20.
A 'rimshot' is generally described as stick striking rim and skin at the same time.
How do you do that?
