  1. I was at the recent Live at Hammersmith release from The Darkness... can't think of any other music ones, but I'm somewhere in the crowd for Bill Bailey's Part Troll if that counts. There was a bit of Slayer in there I suppose! This all pales next to my Dad's efforts as he was present for Genesis Live, IOW festival 1970, Queen at The Rainbow '74, and Deep Purple Live In London - the hooligan yelling 'Smoke on The Water!!' - that's him.
  2. I was so enamoured I bought another, then realised it was a bit daft to have two. The second one was heavier but had a bit more grunt so I kept that one. You can get covers on eBay, but they are pricey. I bought a finger rest, purely for aesthetics. Yet to be fitted, of course 😂
  3. Good man! I've had two, the first one had a pale fretboard. My current one is much darker. I've been playing it all day. It's a beast.
  4. Another happy afternoon spent with the pedal. I'm tending to stay around the suggested Chris Squire settings. It's a tone I've been chasing for over 20 years, and here it is in a tiny little box. I'm laughing at how wonderful it is! As much as I love Dug's tone - and this pedal certainly nails it - it isn't a sound I would ever really use. This pedal is far more versatile than most Youtube demos suggest. There are a lot of variations of tone in this thing. I'm seriously considering selling my EBS Billy Sheehan pedal. @Tech21NYC - bravo!
  5. My first bass was an Eros! Not the same one though, an EB-3 copy, natural finish. Bought for me by my parents for £20. It was a lot of money in those days (1995)! Sorry to digress. As you were!
  6. It's not unheard of for established bands to recruit new members from tribute acts...
  7. If ever you find yourself in Dartford you're welcome to try mine.
  8. You're like my technical spirit guide! That sumo looks impressive. I'm intrigued!
  9. I don't understand a word of that 🤣
  10. That's odd. I keep the lows around 1 and that's pushing it! I did suspect you would return to your trusty Para Driver, it seems to be very 'you'!
  11. Absolutely incredible. What's the top wood?
  12. The curse of the signature pedal I suppose. Tailored for one person's specific needs. I have the high knob around 1 o' clock, and that's plenty of top! I wouldn't want to push it much higher. I am keeping the drive around 12 though. I imagine the highs could get a lot more glassy with more drive. I haven't had the joy of trying the GED sadly. One day!
  13. Forgive the generalistation but does turning down the high control not tame the brightness? Not sure what you mean by the GED and BDDI being 'normal', surely they are all voiced differently?
  14. Are you using it in front of your main amp or as a preamp?
  15. I've just spent a nice couple of hours with the pedal. Inspired by Stuart Clayton's demo, I've been playing around with the Chris Squire setting. It's very, very impressive.
  16. I've got a couple of spare GL scratchplates. PM me if you like.
  17. Didn't he used to play a custom BC Rich as well? I'd completely forgotten about him. Understandably, so it seems!
  18. Just checked - my pre-order shows £18.59 as well. I was getting a bit worried for a moment!
  19. This. @Lozz196, even if you're underwhelmed by it at rehearsal, persevere. It's not hard to get a great sound, but it needs time and tweaking to get 'your' sound. But I reckon it's in there.
  20. So, a few weeks in, how's everyone getting on with it? A very nice new video here. It's good to hear a well-produced demo that avoids the expected Dug sound and shows some of the other sounds this pedal can do. The Chris Squire tone is particularly nice.
