1. I feel honoured to be the one to officially pop Scoop's Basschat cherry by selling him my Burgundy Mist Jazz. How he's been on here so long without previously succumbing to wicked temptation is an example to us all. It was a pleasurable deal throughout and I'm very happy the Jazz has found a loving home. Bravo!
2.
I you weren't there it would be very difficult to be a fan. 3. Faith no More - Sol Invictus Torche - Restarter I'm not really 'getting' either if I'm honest... Currently falling back on Strapping Young Lad's Alien which fills me with absolute joy and also makes me weep for the utter toss Dev is putting out these days...
4. Welcome fellow Kent-dweller!
5.
We have a gig like this where the dance floor is the route out and they have decks going after the band has finished. You strangely pray for a quiet night so you can get out unharmed!!!
My old band used to have a regular gig at a venue like this. It was the only place for miles so would be packed with metallers until the bands finished and then within the space of about 5 minutes the place would empty and re-fill with locals out for the DJ. Of course this all started while we were still packing our stuff away so to escape we had no choice but to cross the dance floor. Now due to the volume levels a verbal 'excuse me' was pointless so a light tap or bump usually did the trick. One time this bloke refused to move, apparently. I had the right hump by now so I simply proceeded to barge through with my 810, expecting him to get the message. Instead I soon realised I was pushing the guy along the dance floor to various screams of horror and protest. Turns out the chap was disabled, on crutches and simply couldn't get out of the way quick enough. Luckily he wasn't hurt and saw the funny side. I apologised profusely and bought him a drink, then drove home feeling utterly wretched.
6.
If you don't sing you are not a musician - just a bass player!
That's a silly thing to say. I would love to do a bit of BV here and there but I am blessed with an unpleasant nasal voice so I could have all the vocal training in the world and still not sound good. I once had to speak over the PA at a gig and nearly passed out with embarrassment.
7. I used to own the MIJ version, but the neck was so skinny it gave me cramp. Happy you're getting along with yours. Nice vid too, sounds great!
8. I prefer the pickups in the 424. They are a bit less refined, and does a better Precision to my ears.
9. I had one of these for a while. Best damn Jazz I've ever played - probably the best Fender, for that matter. Shame I'm not really a J man at heart. GLWTS.
10. Am I evil? Is there anybody listening? Whatever happened to Slade?
11. Does anybody really know what time it is? Does anybody really care?
12.
This what I always tell young people when they give a negative opinion on The Beatles; " You weren't there, so you don't have a valid or credible foundation for your opinion, saying you don't like them means nothing" Blue
If you spoke to me like that my response would be less than courteous. Do you really speak to people like that? Let's assume you came across an under-40 who happened to love the Beatles, does their opinion still remain invalid? Or only when it doesn't conform to yours? I'll assume you refrain from having an opinion on music composed before you were born?
13. It's easily identifiable as it's got the Series body shape. I don't have a picture to hand but it's doing the rounds on Facebook.
14.
I don't think that anyone has mentioned The Yes Album yet? My favourite, probably because it isn't 'too proggy'!
The Yes Album is my personal favourite too. It retains a sense of reckless abandon, as if the band are just starting to realise just how good they are. I think it's a stronger album than Fragile which always sounds a bit disjointed to me, thanks to the 'solo' pieces. Wakeman's is particularly embarrasing, but then he was a bit limited in what he was allowed to do on that record.
15. That is incredibly cool! I had no idea they were still going either.
