1. Pantera! This needs to sell quickly or I'll be in trouble!
2.
Use their gear, carefully, and thank them for it To be honest, I don't really get your position? :s You don't own your own gear, but equally don't want to use other people's?
I'm equally confused. You expect the promoter to provide backline but you don't want to use that of another band, and all the time you don't even own your own?! Gear sharing is pretty much the norm for gigs these days. As a band you need to be in a position to actively take part in the gear share or you will be limiting the gigs you get offered.
3.
Dancing Madly Backwards by Captain Beyond...
That would be 'Captain Beyond' then.
4. Tech 21 Leeds. Very convincing JJ tone. I don't think a dedicated overdrive/distortion pedal will get you in the right ballpark.
5.
Second's Out's live and therefore a compilation - not allowed. It isn't in the right running order either.
Surely a live album and a compilation are different things? We can nominate whatever we want.
6. I'd love to see some more pics of the Dusty-a-like, very tempting!
7. Sold Rick my Tech 21 VT Bass - a hassle-free deal, a pleasure in fact. Enjoy the pedal mate and bring the grunt wherever you play.
8. It's very straightforward to use. I'm a certified computer idiot and I found my way around without much trouble.
9. I wish you could get a Roadworn without the wear... But as it stands, I reckon the 50s Precision is the best Fender P for the money. The neck is chunky but very comfortable.
10.
South London, why? Do you want your pants washing too?
Not after last time, thank you very much!
11. Apologies for being a bit obvious but it has to be Close To The Edge. Utter once in a lifetime, Mars in conjunction with Jupiter-style perfection.
12. This was mine - it's an excellent pedal. I'm tempted to buy it back.
13.
Please delete this thread, don't have time for some people's answers. Btw, leave me alone, I'm going to bass gear, I only wanted to ask. How am I supposed to try something out when it's not at any store in UK except for Bass Gear? They'll probably go out of stock anyway because it is a Fodera. So thanks a lot for some people's answers on this forum. Those of you who were kind enough to give a decent reply (even though how stupid the question sounds I admit), thank you. 14. I think Billy is more than up to the job. He's a previous member of Yes of course so he knows the material, and can manage the harmonies too. He was also great friends with the great man so to me he seems like the natural choice. Have a look at this - Billy on bass with Alan White and Tony Kaye: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8xkonlAu8Y
15.
Those do get quite a bit of positive feedback - and can sound huge: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiqMsdizcxU
Sounds great!
16. Looks like a classic Fender parts bin special, and the name is ridiculous, but it sounds damn good!
17.
I've really valued reading through this thread as I'm in a similar boat. My Ashdown RC500 evo ii has died a death and is beyond economical repair (needs new PSU and it's cooked half the transistors on the board). I have a Sansamp Bass VT and use a trex bass fuzz and tend to have a slightly overdriven sound pretty much all the time onto a full on fuzz through a schroeder 410l. I need to get a new head but don't have a huge budget to play with. I've been looking at a lightweight heads but have been a bit disappointed with the overall heft of some of the amps I've tried before. They just haven't had the same big chunky natural low end of the Ashdown which I really loved. However I don't want to get anything as heavy and I don't want a hifi esque tone. I've been eyeing up the new sansamp VT 500. It's appealing as I'm used to the tone of the pre-amp pedal that's been in my chain for years. If I get one I can also sell the pre-amp pedal too for £100ish. Are there any other contenders for less than £500? Am I asking too much for this budget? I play in a really loud 3 piece with a big hitting drummer which doesn't help! Any advice is much appreciated.
If you like the sound of the VT Bass pedal, you could use it as a preamp into the effects return of any amp. That's what I do but with the Leeds pedal. That way the actual amp itself isn't so important, as long as it's loud and powerful enough as you are really only using it as a power amp.
18. Paul is now the hopefully proud owner of my Joyo Classic Flange pedal. Not just any flange - classic flange. No problems whatsoever - enjoy the pedal mate!
19. Just sold my EHX Linear Power Booster to Dan with no problems whatsoever. Great comms and quick payment. Enjoy the pedal Dan!
20. Dan is now the hopefully proud owner of my EHX Bassballs. A pleasurable deal all round!
