Before anything turns violent, I should like to point out that I made this previous comment in jest and that I happily played Precision basses through an Ashdown rig for nigh on a decade
 2.
Exactly, want more exhibitors there next year? Come along and support the show this year and perhaps the numbers will persuade the exhibitors to turn up next year? If you're not fussed about supporting the show, why should an exhibitor turn up for you not to be there?
I don't think this is very fair, putting the blame for a lacklustre show on those of us that haven't bought tickets. Surely it's the organisers' responsibilty to make an event appealing enough to attract the punters? I'm certainly not in a position to spend money on a ticket for what's looking to be a bit of a half-arsed event (at least in comparison to previous years) in the vague hope that the next one might be better. It's a clear correlation to me - previous bass shows with loads of star turns and exhibitors have sold well, this year hasn't on either front.
 3.
Bloody hell Ben, I thought this was a keeper!! Tempted to pull the trigger on this one myself!!
Tell me about it mate...
 4. Recently purchased, but regretfully getting the push to raise funds for more pressing, non-musical ventures... This Spector is in as-new condition, not a mark I can see on it. It has the adjustable TonePump preamp so it can be adjusted to a sensible output level. Recently had a full set up inc. fret polish and is wearing new Ernie Ball Slinkys. I'll throw in a Roadrunner hard case too. £750 firm for a quick sale. Collection preferred, can meet/deliver around the M25 area. Delivery at buyer's expense. No trade offers, thank you. NOW SOLD.
 5.
Hey thanks Cosmo, its looking for a(nother) deeply handsome owner too ....... think you have my old Yammy 424x BTW :-)
I do! And a bloody marvel it is too!
 6. Gah, just seen this! And I'm only up the road!
 7.
Precisions don't sound good soloed, the magic is in the mix
Also: Rickenbackers have no low end. Ashdowns are ill-defined and muddy. Gibson have never made a decent bass.
 8.
The control cover plate is stainless steel infused polycarbonate, for electrostatic discharge protection.
I had a feeling it would be! Nice bass.
 9. EHX Bassballs. Everyone needs one of these fun machines.
 10. Good for you mate. I think those ash body Soundgears look great. ] I really owe it to myself to go back to Wunjos one day.
 11.
Take a pillow. For the love of god, take a pillow.
This. My golden advice. Also, a roll or two of loo roll. Because you never know.
 12.
http://youtu.be/z9nkzaOPP6g http://youtu.be/X3oDKmYh70M
I read that the resemblance was completely accidental, but when it was pointed out to them The Hives contacted Jeff Lynne to ask permission to use the riff and gave him a songwriting credit. So, fair play to them.
 13.
They are good they sound great, Fred Barchetta have a better singer I think ( the great Uriah Duffy on bass) really amazing . http://youtu.be/HodK8zn7xz4
Now she is good!
 14. Recently bought on here in a fit of nostalgia - one of these pedals served me faithfully for years in my drop B thrash days - but I've not much need for the noises it makes at the moment, sadly. And GAS always demands fresh victims! This is quite an interesting pedal, very unique sound with a lot of low end. Although it doesn't sound like one, it stems from the same world as the Boss Bass Overdrive in that it isn't setting out to emulate a driven amp, rather an extreme guttural growl. That said it performs very well on low gain settings too. The pedal has 3 main settings - clean, overdrive and distortion. Clean isn't really clean at all, adding a slight gritty treble. Overdrive and Distortion are similar, with Distortion being a more extreme version of the Overdrive. There are also 2 'attack' settings which emphasis the top end to varying degrees. These Ibanez pedals have a handy little feature called 'Tone Lok' (sic) which basically means the knobs can be depressed into the casing so the settings can't be knocked by accident. It's built like a tank and is in excellent condition, no marks that I can see. £35 posted. Of course collection is most welcome! 16.
I use Rotosounds on mine because Bass Guitar magazine gave me some for free.
FWIW, I do genuinely like these Rotos too. They may have been used as a convenience but they are still on there with good reason!.
 17.
I wasn't being nasty, but he said it himself.
Then why bring it up? Patronising at best.

 20.
I think I spotted a stool as well.
That's no way to talk about Robert Fripp.
 21.
Got an email about this yesterday from St. Davids Hall in Cardiff, where they are playing. "Oooh" I thought, " that could be fun, haven't seen them for years". Then I saw the ticket prices.....
I know, it's extremely expensive. But, I'm willing to pay it for such impeccable musicianship and quality.
 22.
Good job - I'll be at Hackney as well. Last time I was there was for a Wynton Marsalis gig a few years ago. It's pretty snug!
Oh, bollocks.
 23.
Would like to see KC but not with this yawn-fest. Sorry.
Have you heard the new line-up?
