1.
Yamaha BB424/1024/2024! They have the old skool passive thing going on in spades. They look great, medium profile necks (somewhere between Jazz and Precision feel), terrific Yamaha construction and generally ideal for all situations. The 2000 series BB's are really quite special instruments. There's a couple 1024's on sale here at the moment I think? Truckstop
This. I use two 424s and I cannot fault them. In fact I prefer them over their more expensive brothers as they nail the Precision sound - the 1024 has a slightly different P pickup. I use the P pickup alone most of the time, but it's nice to mix the J in sometimes for a slightly tighter sound. They pop up on here from time to time for around £200 - no brainer.
 2.
Well this is a supposed reissue of the wah he used, and the original pedal came with a built in fuzz circuit. I don't think Morley are trying to claim it was his main fuzz pedal.
Fair enough.
 3. I had no idea this book existed! One for the Amazon vouchers I think! I love Type O Negative. Bloody love them. October Rust was one of the first 'modern' heavy albums I got into ( I was a bit of a Sabbath obsessive at the time - still am). A genuinely beautiful album. He's a very underrated bass player as well. Died on my birthday, would you believe.
 4.
I'm on my own with Paloma vs Joss then! I hear Joss as a great singer singing in her natural voice. Paloma to me always sounds like she's putting on an impression of a soul singer!
Ms Faith always sounds like she's got some cake in her mouth when she sings. And that she's sitting in a broken tumble dryer. I do have a bit of a soft spot for Ms Stone though.
 5. A bit of confusion though - didn't Cliff use the Big Muff for fuzz?
 6.
Has everyone seen this? I would imagine it will be released at namm. Any thoughts? http://www.thomann.de/gb/morley_m2_cliff_burton_fuzz_wah.htm?sid=937725fe8e8ff2c2ecdff1d61a191f24
Thoughts: I want one.
 7. Looks like the one Billy Gould used to play in Faith No More - if so, great bass!
 8.
Obviously you're not finding it totally exhilarating... it is too controversial for you..? How much d'you want for it? Has it got the output trim pot? I know Damonjames was looking for one.
I adore the exhilaration, and the controversy bothers me not! It's just too hot so I've replaced it with a new trim pot one. The sound it makes, I cannot fault.
 9. I happen to have a thunderous, brash, epic, controversial and totally exhilarating Tone Pump for sale as we speak...
 10. I've never seen a CV Precision with block inlays before. Bravo!
 11. I know looks aren't everything, but... But a Molan has said, the demand is clearly there.
 12.
Budgie - In the grip of the Tyrefitters hands
Yes, yes, yes! Far from their best song but I've always fancied opening a set with Forearm Smash.
 13. That's a Zephyr isn't it? Luvverly bass.
 14.
Not much in comparison to his Precisions is, I think, what is meant and is probably perfectly correct.
This.
 15. I'm surprised the Stingray seems to be thought of as his iconic instrument, he didn't use it that much.
 16. If that bass is in Crystal Palace, I am currently sitting a mere ten minutes away...
 17.
That's just Facebook and YouTube in general, not just guitarists.
This is no time for sweeping generalisations! C.V. (33)
 18.
Sorry, that is incorrect. John used his 61 Precision on the first Asia album, through 3 x Marshall super bass heads and cabs, using his Pete Cornish pedalboard. Also, it sounds nothing like a Rick - just listen to the verses of Here Comes The Feeling - unmistakenly a P-bass. John later used his 1968 deluxe Rickenbacker 4001 on every track on Alpha, save for 'The Heat Goes On' which was the Precision. I know John personally so I can coroberate this.
I've just listened to 'Here Comes the Feeling' - doesn't sound much like a P bass to me, but if the man himself says so by all means get him to confirm! I was only going by what he said himself anyway. I'm not a fan of Asia but have always admired his tone on their first album, and it certainly sounds nothing like his P Bass on the KC recordings.
 19.
Best PRECISION ever, I had one of these, utter joy to play, very well built, great sound. Then I sold it. Because I'm an idiot.
Agreed! I sold mine too, like a nitwit. The neck had a proper bit of striping in the maple too. Nitwit.
 20.
I was of the impression that they were bista basses and people were applying their own logos ?
Ahh, Bista...
