3.
Also The Hives - Hate To Say I Told You So (mainly for the bass face in the solo!): http://www.youtube.c...1Jwyxd4tE#t=126
Hate to say I told you so but that Hives track is a P bass... My choices (apart from the obvious Rush/Yes selections): http://youtu.be/ShQm_2yRr1E http://youtu.be/ORsduKShmv4 http://youtu.be/A_5uYMamLzI http://youtu.be/0bdcnysXhHU And loads more I'll probably remember later.
4. I love my humble 424x, so I can only imagine what this is like!
5. Can I have a go? Edit: Is that one of the long scale EBs?
6. I used to seriously lust after these when I was at school... All Geezer Butler's fault. They look so much better with the scratchplate. GLWTS.
7.
Having a Fender MIA P I can say it compares very favourably and the p retro allows you to dial in mid cut thump or mid hump clank Through headphones they sound pretty much the same
Intriguing!

9.
Not managed to get everything altogether in one place yet, life is a bit complicated at the moment and I was waiting for Roqsolid to send out the "Powerbag" I ordered so I could carry the cabs back from work on the train. They're compact and very light, but still not much fun on public transport or walking anything over a mile. Anyway, I got one home last night and had a quick blast this morning. The build quality is top notch, very solid indeed, especially the head, wonderfully finished and sturdy. Through headphones the amp sounds quite modern but can get quite dirty, when you dial the gain back its almost hifi, but taking it up to overdriving it sounds lovely, dirty and punchy without being too spiky if that makes sense? The gain circuit is designed to overdrive nicely rather than clip, would be cool if it was switchable, but I do appreciate the simple and uncluttered design of this little amp. Through the one cab, its not quite as "surprisingly huge for the size" as the Promethean running flat, but having said that its a very nice noise, just not quite as bassy. You can dial all that in however using the thankfully simple 3 band EQ. There's also a lot of volume on tap, seemingly more than the Promethean. If all goes well, I'll get the second cab home tonight and give the whole thing a go tomorrow morning. I reckon two of these cabs will be pretty powerful and the whole modular thing should give me everything I could need for a little while. I'll be back once I've had a plonk through the whole rig. Eude
Luvverly!
10. Also look out for Who's Next, Metallica, and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
11. Probably an impossible question to answer, but how does it compare tonally to a Precision?
12. Updates?!?! I'm itching to hear how this rig performs...
13. I sold this to Mark at Classic and Cool and I miss it
14. To echo some earlier posts... Jim Lea Colin Hodgkinson Dee Murray
15.
Fanned frets took five minutes to get used to No biggie
This. I played one at the bass show last year, a fiver with a low F#, and it was astounding. Alas, the basic tone of the instrument left me cold - not a fault of the bass, just not to my taste. Sheldon Dingwall is a top fellow though, we had quite a natter.
16. I have played this bass and will cheerfully say it's the finest instrument I have ever experienced. Incredible tone and feel. Slightly out of my price range
17. My soul remains intact... For the time being.
