1. Anybody seen these yet? Apologies if they've already been mentioned. Not sure what to think really! Looks quite versatile with all those switching options but I reckon that pickup is just too far back for me. white/maple: http://www.andertons.co.uk/electric-...mpic-white.asp Charcoal transparent/rosewood: http://www.andertons.co.uk/electric-...ransparent.asp Candy apple red/rosewood: http://www.andertons.co.uk/electric-...-apple-red.asp
2. I've got a couple of spare GL scratchplates, mirror and white pearl... Great basses, I only sold mine as my hand couldn't cope with the skinny neck.
3.
Looks like an Epic but I can't get my head around the controls being on the wrong side (above as opposed to below if turned around )
It's an Essence I think. Just noticed the controls though!
4. Pic of my old band, taken about 5 years ago, for the sleeve of our first album. I'm at the back with the muttons, managing to look in a completely different direction to everyone else. Don't worry ladies, I still look exactly he same! 5.
A week or two back doing a quick support slot for a mate's band. Just turned up with a bass and a tone pedal and off we went...
You are Matt Freeman, and I claim my £2.73!!
6. I've just bought some of Dave's old Bass Player magazines. No probs whatsoever, the mags were posted as soon as I sent the payment. For old mags, they are in excellent condition too. Cheers Dave!
7. I played an impromptu covers set with some mates the other week, amongst others we played a version of American Woman which gradually morphed into Tales of Brave Ulysses and back again. Worked a treat!
8. Nice! Looks a bit like a Conklin. Those pickups look meaty!
9. Don't worry, just realised it's a SUB - fire escape step scratchplate!
10. No help at all, but I like it! What colour was the original pickguard?
11. The first thing that pops into my head is the closing titles of Only Fools and Horses. Also: I Love It Loud by Kiss The Crunge - Led Zep
12. Programmes such as this are just further proof, if any were needed, that I was born 30 years too late.
13. Aisle - Horizons by Genesis (Steve Hackett solo guitar - no Collins) First dance - Onward by Yes Quite a prog wedding it would seem.
14.
Just comes off as a jealous whining tart, given that Manson was not only quite astute in masterminding his own meteoric rise to popularity. Of course, after Holywood Manson went creatively bankrupt and fell from grace just as quick as he went up. But Reznor never offered anything of merit so he is hardly well placed to criticise Manson.
I actually quite like a lot of Reznor's stuff, I'm dismayed to find out I've been wasting my time! Nirvana and G'n'R, similarly. Just out of interest, can you recommend some music of merit? Something that you listen to perhaps. I'm genuinely interested to find out what you consider worthwhile and of acceptable 'merit'.
15.
Geezer,NAMM 2013, interesting comments at 1.30 to 1.50. Wants to be good at $4300 http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=3&cad=rja&ved=0CDsQtwIwAg&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DTpdc5wLiWAk&ei=z0vDUfrfLMPChAf2mIDoDA&usg=AFQjCNEYv2eMn_dRJ9czBTrKsee0Wu0UHg&bvm=bv.48175248,d.ZG4
Geezer, the personification of 'deadpan'. It's a nice bass but I don't really get the striped pickguard.
16.
I've never tried one, but I've read that they're as thin, if not thinner, than Soundgears. What would you say?
They are seriously slim. I has one for a while, got cramp in my fretting hand after about ten minutes of playing. But I do like a chunky neck as you know. If you fancy a J, the Geddy Lee might be the one for you.
17. I love Yes, but without Anderson, not interested.
18. I like this a lot! Does it have two outputs like Sheehan's Attitude bass?
19. I briefly owned a BC Rich Mockingbird, from the same line as Ed S's Warlock. Say what you like about the looks, the tone was superb. Very growly with everything on. It's no surprise Entwistle was so enamoured of the arrangement for a few years.
