  1. I would suggest buying pickup bezels from the designer Tubeampology - the Rick version is, ironically, a rip-off of the design and very much a cheap knock-off. I've owned both, the original is of a higher quality. I'm assuming the ones on Rickysounds are the Rickenbacker version but I could be wrong. https://www.thetreblebezel.com/
  2. I'm surprised we made it all the way to page two before the inevitable "the Beatles weren't all that" comments started...
  3. That's a spectacular example, the sunburst bodies often look like random chopping boards! It's a pity this is collection only, these are fantastic basses.
  4. Ships Don't Disappear in the Night (Do They?) - 10cc
  5. That does look similar, not sure if the body shapes are the same though. I can't find any pics of the bass version, but as luck would have it there seems to be a modern copy available - Pure Salem, a new one to me. https://www.puresalemguitars.com/products/classic-creep-bass
  6. Nobody's suggested that Fender don't try anything new.
  7. My Girlfriend's Girlfriend - Type O Negative
  8. I think Lemmy sounds glorious in isolation! Well, his early stuff anyway. His signature Rick sounded like a chewed-up wasp to me.
  9. I've never seen anything like this before! Apologies for the murky shots, no good look at the headstock either. Anyone know what this strange, mutant proto-Buzzard might be?
  10. Are @Ashdown Engineering still on here? Any demos soon?
  11. I started a thread about this pedal last year and we still haven't seen any demos!
  12. I answered "distorted" but it's a bit of a cheat, I use an EBS Billy with an EQ pedal in the distortion loop to cut lows and boost highs for more of a guitar amp sound. The result is a basic bi-amp simulation but works very well for me.
  13. Knocking Nails Into My House - The Idle Race
  14. They're always in the loft aren't they 😄
  15. I'm in two minds about this - this is the third Starfire I've owned as I regretted selling the others, but I think I need to accept the short scale and skinny neck aren't really working for me! It's a shame as the sound is wonderful. Tonally, add a bit of drive and it's instant Jack Casady/Jefferson Airplane. It can really roar. It's been recently set up with TI flats. The bass is in superb condition, just some very, very minor light marks to the top edge of the headstock and the bottom edge of the body. Hardly noticeable. Original Guild hardcase included. Collection from Dartford preferred, could possibly meet up too if not too far.
