1.
Hi there, I tried one of these out (new) recently, and maybe it was me being picky, but there were quite a few tiny flaws in the paint, such as 'hairs' in the laquer, slight bits of uneven colour in the gold. Is yours ok, or similar to the description i've just made? Nice bass though, even with a beer gut like mine
Hello Rich, The finish on mine is fine, I am normally a bit eagle eyed for that sort of thing but mine seems fine. However I have updated the original post with a picture of a small bit of damage to the case which I thoughtfully added this morning! A piece of the covering has come away, easily fixed with a bit of glue, but in the interests of openess thought it best to mention it now. Thanks
2.
I had this with Soundslive last week with a GK neo112. Box all taped up and the speaker lead in a jiffy bag I spoke to them about it and I have to call back this week. They did say I will get a partial refund If I decided to keep the cab. I'll update after I've called them.
I got the offer of a partial refund initially, but decided against it as nobody knew the origins of the head.
3. I recently had a similar issue with SoundsLive, they sent me out a used MiBass 220, when I had ordered a brand new one. They blamed Ashdown for the mistake(!) and I was told that they would send out a new replacement one for £20 discount, didnt tell me that they were not going to refund me the £25 I paid to get the original one delivered on a Saturday. I told them that wasn't on, got an email from a director stating that I was being un-reasonable, so I cancelled the order and got a full refund. Never had a problem with them prior to this, but would not go back to Soundslive again.
4. Thanks Eddie, appreciate it.
5. Looking at a mibass220, it has two 8ohm speaker outs, would it be okay to connect a single 4ohm cab? How would that affect the power output, cab in question is ashdown lb212. Thanks
6.
Just got one of these, eye poppingly nice!
Cheers Stinson, like the avatar
7. My beer bump and wifes baby bump forces sale bump
8. This listing is for my Gold Jack Casady bass strung with flat wounds with matching Epiphone hard case, long strap. The bass is in near mint condition and it plays lovely, unfortunately the shape of the bass and the shape of my beer gut just don't get on, beer belly forces sale. I recently got the bass setup with the flat wounds and they have not even been played in yet, probably 30 mins of play at most. [s]If you are picking the bass up from me the price is £450.[/s] If you are picking the bass up from me the price is £440.
9. I know what you mean, most people use postage to cover ebay fees! I wouldnt expect shops to post at cost, they need to cover time and materials, but got a quote from another store which offered Saturdays for £12. Pity the other store charged more for the item.
10. Delivery quoted for mibass 220 and I could get it sent for £15 by the same courier. Bear in mind the shop told me £25 was cost
11. I was quoted a price of £25 yesterday for Saturday delivery by Ukmail. This seemed excessive at business rates, does anybody know the price a business would pay for this service? Thanks
12. Colin bought my sgc nanyo bass, very easy transaction. He paid quickly and fully updated throughout. Thanks
13. I had one but sent it back, only because the treble control was subtle to non-existent. Apparently its not suited to all passive basses, there is talk about it on talkbass.
14. Dont think its been posted before but good review of the 220 here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSAqdJMEEyw&feature=share
15. Thanks for your advice. It has gone back to the shop now, but I was testing it with the Geddy Lee with round wounds and the Aerodyne Precision with flat-wounds. I also used those same basses against the treble control on my Ashdown LB30 amp and with that I could really here the tone being affected, my ears just couldn't hear it on the BG250.
16. I got a good deal on a nearly new BG250 combo recently, but I found that the treble dial did not work, it seemed to increase the hiss in the output but the sound of the bass remained unchanged to my ears. I tried the combo with all my basses and got the same results each time. I returned the combo and got a response today saying that they had tested it with....
an electic guitar, and a sine wave generator and was successfully able to alter frequencies using this dial.
I have asked him to test using a bass rather than a guitar and let me know if he can hear an audible difference with the treble control. Is it possible that a treble control can work and have no or limited affect on bass frequencies, so in essence its working but not working properly?
17. Go on, pull the trigger! ;-)
18. Now keeping the original preamp, price reduced to £145.
19. So I bought the lb212 and it sounds great, its also very loud. I have heard/seen it said that valve and solid state wattage is different, what would the solid state power equivalent be of the lb30 with lb212 cab? Thanks
