  1. Just received John's Sire V7 G2... packed well, posted quickly and as described! What's not to like! Deal with John in complete confidence - a recommended BC'er.
  2. Mustafunk bought my Xotic in a trade - very easy transaction and he sorted all shipping! Recommended BCer!
  3. Thanks Andy... also of note, I had the chance to use scales at work to weigh the bass - 4.35kg - a smidge over 9lbs if anyone is interested...
  4. It's one of those situations of analysing differences between pups using frequency analysers and what not... Such minute differences... No apology necessary, I think you nailed it on the head!
  5. Looks about right - I'm with you on the stock pups... very typical jazz sound, lots of 'growl' as you say... I can imagine lots of 'sharp intake of breath' with what I am about to say, but I don't think I have never heard enough of a benefit to warrant the kind of money some pickups cost. It's a very subjective thing - I replaced my SR5 pup a few years ago with a bartolini version and I honestly don't think it brought anything to the sound that the original didn't have. A slight tonal difference yes, but not enough to really warrant the cost of changing it. I have a cheap Revelation fretless and the pups are so loud and toneful! Hardware is a bit naff but I was so surprised at the sound of cheap pups. I played a friends SUB SR4 and the output was huge and it had a typical SR sound. Anyway... Carl - stop rabbiting on!!
  6. Hi @TorVic I think that they would fit yes. It's difficult to be 100% accurate and without hesitation, as the measurements on the Aguilar website / link you posted seem to be in inches with a decimalised ending... Or am I being a bit stoopid?? For example, length of the Aguilar bridge is 4.100 - The bacchus is about 4 1/8" but with a cavity which is about 4 1/8"... the distance between screwholes is 1.920, the bacchus is about 1/16" under 2 inches... based on these, i think they would fit. Someone could correct me if I am wrong?
  7. I would have thought similar as the scale length is so close to a 34 but will check..
  8. Thanks for pointing this out @Quent Good to know. I checked it on Android and it was ok...
  9. Bacchus slap.mp3Bacchus finger.mp3 Very basic sound files - please excuse the simplicity of this - it was a bassline I recording as a loop for a student but at least you can hear it. Volume and tone up full with both pups equal.
  10. String spacing at the bridge - 18mm. Also, scale length: I did a bit of double checking and it's 33.5" at the B string and 33.25" at the G string. Probably why it doesn't feel a lot different to a 34" scale!
  11. Maybe I should have said in my opinion I don't feel any difference between this and my SR5. Everyone is different - I played a 32" scale once and it felt like a toy bass, and I cannot get on with 35" scale, feels huge to me. Anyhoo... I can only offer what I think.
  12. Cheers... It's a great bass and pains me to sell. I was going to make a red tortoiseshell scratch plate for it as well, it would have looked soooo good!!
  13. It is great, it annoys me that I have to sell it. Seems to be a similar story from what I read on BC....
  14. Bacchus WL-533 Woodline Jazz Bass 5 String for sale due to finances / lack of gigs. 😑 Picked up recently in a trade and I wouldn't be selling it other than I need a cash injection to maintain some stability! It is in as new condition, no dings or marks and has the lovely matching headstock. 33" scale length although I couldn't tell any difference between that and my SR5 which is 34" scale. Comes with the Bacchus soft gig bag. Not the best but vertainly usable. Made in Phiilipines and assembled in the Japan factory, passive electronics with volume, pup pan and tone controls, it's great sounding and great playing. Not much else for me to say really! I can post at the buyers expense (should be around £25 insured) and I will say that price is negotiable within reason. I'm just trying to re-coup some expense which will hopefully enable me to replace this with something cheaper and have some spare cash. If local, any trial is welcome and I have had the setup tweaked a bit - the neck is straight as a die and the action is nice and low with no buzz. I will add some more pics soon (original pics from Mustafunk) - any questions, get in touch.
  15. Paul bought my Peli case - a pleasure to do business with! Top BC'er!
  16. That's funny, as that's where I ended up. I found a good deal on Amazon so if it doesn't work out for me, not a big loss! Interesting to see what other people are using though...
  17. Top job - thanks for that. Any personal experience?
