1.
Well what do you think? If this forum was to be the place for people with bass gear to drop in and get rid of some stuff, surely it would resemble Loot. But it's not. This is a forum for people who play or have an interest in the bass guitar, double bass or hybrids of these instruments. A bit of common courtesy to say hello would make a lot of difference. At least introduce yourself and say hello.
I know what you are saying...I just felt it was a bit of a hostile welcome. The gear may well turn into a great deal for a Basschatter (obviously the details would need fleshing out a bit). I have contributed to the community (largely through this forum over the past 3 years) but have spent most of the time looking rather than typing. That being said, I have had some great deals from the community and given some great deals. If I had got a welcome like this one, I wouldn't have bothered.
2.
2 posts and they are both adverts - a cynical reader might think you registered just to advertise your speakers.
Is that not allowed?!
3. How portable is it...weight, wheels, etc?
4. How heavy are these boys?
5. Give me £525 for them and I'll throw in the cab!

8.
Even better A 1990 BT6 ! I'm in Great Baddow. I know Kiwi is selling a BSR or something similar. There might be a "G" somewhere in it.
Just had a look- a bit too 'used' for me! Great price though. I've seen Kiwi's- just need to raise the funds...
9.
Dangee, just noticed you're in Chelmsford - so am I! Weird, I was thinking - would love to try these two!
The heights of South Woodham Ferrers, to be specific. You're more than welcome. I don't suppose you have a nice BSR? Dan
10.
Dan I think that's my old 'ray. Did you biuy it on here? If so, the guy who bought it from me told me he'd give me first refusal and then sold it about a week later! If it is that bass, it's a beauty, really great sound and really cuts through (I should be more sure but your pics ain't the best). The neck's to die for! Good luck Chris
Yeah- I got it back in the days of Bassworld! It's gorgeous. Unplayed, but gorgeous!
11. Yeah. I had it done about 8 months ago. The paintings were originally by the graffiti artist Crash. I didn't realise at the time but he'd done a few for Clapton and then was commissioned by Fender to do some exclusive stuff. I found two good pictures, gave them to the SIMS custom shop and they did one on the front, one on the back and then merged them together. Dan
12. Like the look of Flanker's Jazz so will put this up at £1250 for as long as Flanker's bass is available. The Lakland is a US JO (with SIMS artwork, side LEDs and a J-Retro). I'd value the bass before the work at £1400, the pre was about £200 and the SIMS work £800. It can go for £1500- so that's £100 for £1000 worth of extras. Stingray is sold. Cheers, Dan
13. I have decided that this can go. Let me know if you have any possible trades (either 4 strings or high end amps)...
14.
For sale again, this time it needs to go. Please help!
Do you want a Stingray for it?!
15. Sadowsky Hybrid P Bass...
16. Yeah- I think the NYCs are about 1-1.5lb's lighter...
17. The line from Roger Sadowsky is that the quality between the two is equal and that the only reason to order an NYC bass is if you want custom options (such as a flamed top). Even then, the Metro's are becoming more 'custom'. I have a Precision Hybrid en route as we speak- P Body, P and J pups and J neck. There's some really good artciles about NYC v Metro if you do a search on Talkbass.
18. Would be looking at about 1800. Rough used JO value 1400 (about 2200 new?) plus 800 Sims work and 200 J retro...this would take into account that the modifications don't directly add value to the extent that they cost, but letting it go for any less wouldn't be financially viable.
19. Bump...
20. I've had a few beers but will still give this one a miss, thanks!
21. Now definitely available Not 100% sure if I want to sell this but an increasingly bad back means I'm thinking of having something built (and maybe internally chambered). If anyone has anything high-end and lightweight (preferably a 4 string) that they might trade then give me a shout. The bass- you'll love it or hate it. This was a Sherwood Green US JO which has been recently 'done' by the Sims Custom Shop. The artwork is based on the work of the graffiti artist Crash (who has designed Strats for Clapton and has done other exclusive Fender stuff). The artwork is stunning (and wasn't cheap). There are also red LEDs along the side of the neck and the bass is fitted with a J-Retro pre. It is in immaculate condition and potentially available.
