  2. Do you have both pickups on at the same time? Does each pickup have it's own volume knob? How are the volume knobs set? If you do have both pickups on, and each pickup has it's own volume knob, then maybe roll off a touch of the P pickup, and have the J pickup at a higher level. This should give you a nice rounded sound, but with the bite of the J. Just a suggestion.
  3. The MIK ones had the serial no. on the back of the headstock. Never saw any MIJ Tokai T'birds, so can't comment on them.
  4. Happy anniversary Andy & happy birthday Ella. Our two turned 13 this year... where the hell did that time go?
  5. Love the Overwater Original's.
  6. Anything with an Aux port really. I think that the best solution would be something like the Zoom B1 Four. Plenty of options for amp sims, plenty of effects, aux input to plug in an iPhone or other audio source, and a headphone out. Reasonably priced too. https://www.gak.co.uk/en/zoom-b1-four-bass-multi-effects-pedal/924373 https://www.andertons.co.uk/bass-dept/bass-guitar-pedals/bass-multi-effects/zoom-b1-four-bass-multi-fx-pedal https://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/product/190828347808008--zoom-b1-four
  7. The UniTune was discontinued a while back.
  8. As much as it's a PITA, it does pay to shop around if you know what you're after. Google is a big help.
  9. I've already had mine built. The only thing I didn't like on the build was the pickups, so they've been swapped out. The knobs it came with weren't the chickenhead's either.
  10. Since the COVID lockdown, bugger all... I only really listened to music when I was in the car going to & from work, but since March, and working from home, I just haven't used the car very much at all, so my music listening has dwindled. Of course, in my younger years, just like everyone else, music was a huge part of my life. These days, it's simply getting the opportunity to get the chance to just listen to something. Don't listen to the radio much, most stations play music with a very heavy rotational playlist (current Top 40), full of talk shows, adverts, or have name presenters that are more annoying than their playlist.
  11. Shouldn't it be "How much advertising material can SBL send out during one of the competitions?"
  12. Haven't played an Ashdown AAA, but any Ashdown 300w 2x10 combo should be worth a try if nothing else. Solid amps, solid sound, and if anything goes wrong, Ashdown should sort it out for you.
  13. I made enquiries at JayDee a while back, and they were quoting 16 months build time, with the explanation that there's only a handful of people working there, the waiting list for other instruments, as well as the workload for setup's / repairs etc. JayDee are not Wal, obviously, but assuming that Wal are providing a similar service with setup's and repairs, and that there's only a handful of people (if that) working there, it does go to explain the lead time.
  14. As G&L is a Fender "derivative" (designed by the man himself of course), then surely, a generic P or J style neck would fit it. Worth looking into before spending money on getting the neck thinned.
  15. One of the few things I liked about the L2000 Tribute I had... was the neck!
  16. IIRC, the T'bird has a Jazz width neck (38mm), the Embassy has a P width neck.
  17. KT Tunstall - great voice Julie Fowlis - folk, sings in Scottish Gaelic. Beautiful voice.
  18. You can still get the Fender 7150 strings, which are the Nickel Plated Steel strings (same ball ends as we've discovered).
