Think that 115's are a bit of a rarity, you'd have better luck looking for a 120 set. TBH, I find the opposite. Dunlop's DBS's have plenty of punch & brightness, as well as longevity. Haven't tried any Roto's for may years, mainly because I used Roto 66's (LD's IIRC) for many years, mainly because at the time, they were the cheapest available, but always found them to be a bit lacking, and they'd not last very long.

It's unfortunate that they are unique to the bass (as fabulous as they are), as the market only seems to carry the more "traditional" clover or Y shaped tuners, with bigger base plates. A "work around" could be to use something like the Licensed Hipshot Ultralite, as the overall footprint is smaller than that of the original tuners. Or take it to a trusted repairer and see if they can fix the originals for you. Good luck, hope you can get the original tuners fixed.

All of my other Faker's reside in the Thomann "classic" case (https://www.thomann.de/gb/thomann_ebass_case.htm), so it makes sense to consider the ABS one. Cheers. 👍

So my recently acquired 4003's case has seen better days, one of the feet is missing (common problem with the Ric ABS cases), it's generally beaten up, and it's a bit pongy too. Has anyone ever put their 4003 into an aftermarket, preferably hard shell, case? Any recommendations? Anything to avoid? Anything to look out for? Must admit that I prefer a hard case rather than a gig bag, even though the modern gig bags are very good. Would consider one of those oblong soft cases like the Gator GL Bass case or the Rockcase Soft-Light case. Cost is a consideration, but I will consider anything really. Thanks.

Matsumoku is definitely the way to go, an Aria Pro II or a Westone (Thunder II or III). Ibanez are always a great choice, maybe a Musician or Roadstar.
