  1. I've owned a few Iceman guitars over the years, and only ever had a neck dive issue with one of them, which had a basswood body, instead of mahogany like the rest (owned 6, guitars, still own 2). The mahogany bodied IC's balanced superbly.
  2. Wouldn't he be better using a multi-FX / modeller I stead of a laptop? He could then actually switch effects in real time, and not have to worry about its ruggedness, as they're designed to be used on stage. Something like the HD500x, Helix, Axe FX, Kemper etc. All more rugged than a laptop.
  3. The kids kicking 10 shades of sh**e out of each other
  4. Yup, did that as well... what an eye opener it was too! Ooops. Drastically reduced it over the last few years, but it's starting to creep back up again.
  5. Still skint unfortunately, or else I would have bought this.
  6. Time to dig out your platform boots Dave!
  7. Great story & a 'most excellent human being' award for Andy.
  8. Saw The Stranglers the other night, JJB's still up there.
  9. If I had the cash, I'd probably go for a Tech21 VT500, and a good 2x10, or a Helix, or something else. Bass-wise, it'd be a 4003 and/or T'bird with a wide neck. Unfortunately, I'm skint.
  10. Definitely a drool-worthy rig. Matamp are seriously underrated.
  11. Blindfolded, I bet you could. Over the years, I've owned & played many a bass, from cheap to expensive, J bass width nuts to P bass width nuts, and a few in between. For me, a wider nut feels far more comfortable. Even though I've owned J & J style basses in the past, I sold my last J because it just didn't feel comfortable to play.
  12. Agree with The Greek, practice parts of the song individually and try to get them up to tempo, rather than the whole song. When you've either sussed a section (or got it a bit quicker than it was), move on to another section and so on. Then when you're comfortable with it play a couple of sections together and build up to the whole song. Don't rush it, and more importantly, don't overdo it either. Take say 5-15 minutes or so on one part, have a wee break, move on to the next part for another 5-15 minutes or so. Put the parts together and go over them for another 5-15 minutes. Build slowly.
  13. Odd or not, it's good to see. And young people, being disenfranchised by some sort of dystopian future??? Nah... wouldn't resonate with them at all.....
  14. I guess an e-cig just doesn't have that rock'n'roll cache does it? Though you could save a fortune on smoke machines.
  15. Check out the FRFR threads in both the Amps & Cabs section & the Effects section.
  16. The band on the Voice are probably the only reason to watch it. My kids tell me that David Tench is on keyboards, and the Band Leader (apparently he's on a CBBC singing competition type programme - Got What It Takes).
  17. Thankfully, Ashdown are one of the few manufacturer's that print the power outputs in the Tech Specs part of the manual. Though I agree with stingrayPete, and would say 300-350w into an 8 Ohm cab.
  18. No experience, but the name did pop up on "that other site" the other day, so I had a look on their website. The "Short Horn" design would appear to be a cross between a Wal and a Shergold (to my eyes at least). He does a "Long Horn" too.
  19. You forgot Ed... The last "great" Brits performance in my book was in 1992. The KLF & ENT, 3am Eternal.
  20. Didn't he use a StingRay for a while as well as the P basses.
