1. Chalk up another vote for Sennheiser HD's. I have an older pair of HD200's I bought years ago, and they're still going strong, and sounding great.
2. You'll be a regular in EMS then. Last time I was in there, the bass dept. was a lot smaller than it used to be, but at least it had moved downstairs! Spent far too much money in there over the years.
3. Knew there was a minor controversy over the song
4. Didn't Dee Snider sue Trump about him using "We're Not Gonna Take It"?
5.
No I can't!
Should be: Kanye...? Naw, ahcaenae.
6. Have a Tascam DR-05 for rehearsals, and a USB interface for home recording. Had a few portable studio recorders, the best was a Yamaha AW1600, superb piece of kit. Long gone now though.
7. I do think his inauguration will rekindle the punk/angry/protest music, like Regan & Thatcher were great for the US & UK punk scene's.
8.
No British members of The Stray Cats, they're all American.
Always thought the bass player & drummer were Brits
9. Early days for the current band, so other than playing bass, I seem to have acquired the role of 'coordinator', booking rehearsals & songwriting sessions. From here, who knows. Previous bands, I've been guitarist, singer, songwriter, sound engineer, studio engineer, mixer, producer, artist, coordinator, booking agent & roadie, not forgetting the 'good old days' of 'just' being the bassist.
10. If you're not happy with it, get in touch with the shop & let them know you're not happy with it, if they're a shop that is good, they'll hopefully understand and try and come up with a solution. Personally, I like that it's not a "uniform" grain, adds a bit of personality to the bass and makes it stand out a bit.
11. Swoon... Come with a case? How about postage?

New Vs Used

I'd say go with what you know. The Digitech may be good but you know that you achieved a good sound with the Boss. The Digitech may surprise you of course, and the Boss might not be as good as you recall, but it will also have a better residual price than the Digitech.
13. Listen to what's being played, and how it's being played. Have fun.
14. Geddy Geezer Lemmy Guy Pinhas Ron Holzner Youth and Raven Scott Reeder Phil Lynot This space subject to change without prior notice Ditto
15. There are also things like the Zoom B1 & B3, the old PODxt, PODx3 & newer HD range (the xt & HD will need add on "expansion" packs), as well as pre-amp pedals like the SansAmp. IMO, a PJ bass would be ideal, especially if it has 2 volume knobs, as you can roll back the volume on the P pickup.
16. I had an '89 blonde 2EQ StingRay that sounded amazing, I stupidly sold, & later bought a mid/late 90's 2EQ StingRay to replace it. It didn't get anywhere near the sound of the '89, in fact I struggled to get a good sound out of it at all. Moved it on.
17.
Yes, it is a shame. I was hoping to take a trip at some point early next year as I'm fairly (ish) local.
I was hoping to nip in there next time we're down that way
18. To be fair though, they endorse those products, and have done extensive work with the manufacturers in order to acheive the instruments they use regularly.
19. Such a shame that they're calling it a day.
20. Shame about losing touch with your old drummer, do you have his mobile no. or email? Other than that, all I can suggest is to look for another project more to your liking. The local Gumtree pages or local music pages on Facebook are worth a look, or the good old ad in the local music shop. Still works.
